Monday morning, i awoke in a tent trailer, feeling like a kid in a candy store. A short perusal of Grahmbo's new guide the evening previous had whetted my appetite to the point of ultimate arousal.

I thought i might pop before we even got to the base of the cliff.

Justin was an amazing host, who's generosity was much appreciated and will be returned ten fold. He took me up to big sleep for my first Shuteye adventure.

Shuteye approach surprise factor...
(It had fallen in the night since other locals had been up the day before without issue.)

The real approach. You Yosemite types who get off the beaten path will crush these!!!
Incomplete Paraplegics from the sea to sky area, tend to find them challenging....

Justin getting racked up for p1 of Moonlight Madness 5.8

Justin following p2

On the sharp end. P3

Justin enjoys the fabulous horns of p4.

The p4 belay. Complete with requisite gear hanging horn.

Shuteye Ridge. Eagle Beaks on the left.

Justin summiting the true peak of Big Sleep. Somehow after all the times he'd been up here he'd never seen the view from the true top. I fixed that! ;)

Topout baby!

After we walked down to crocodile to sample this little number.

Willy, 5.8

The hike back to the car was scenic, but tiring. Lol

Yeah, I was quite impressed by Willy Nilly. Isn't as straight forward as it looks from the ground, like most climbs. So many good laughs and climbs with the tallest Canadian I know. The tour will continue in September! I needed that, but hard to complain about a shoulder when Mike can pull the I was in a wheelchair 15 months ago card, LOL. Don't break your back or neck Factor 2 Mike.
Oh yeah write a TR already, shit!

Ya you do Ryan!!

Tuesday morning a trip to the Grey Eagle area was planned and Justin's Bro Jeremy\
was recruited as rope gun since he'd done the climb before and would be happy to lead
in case both of us got snail eye! lol

Sierra spring water to start our day. MMM tasty.

Road to Grey Eagle

Beauty views on the drive up there..

The Ross boys ready for the death march

First peek at the goods

Jeremy getting started on P1 of Captain Obvious 5.8

Karate Chop!

Biggest pinecone i've ever seen!!

Jeremy is a self admitted chalk whore. It didn't seem that bad to me, until
he asked me to pass him his chalk storage unit when we were cragging and being lazy i offered him mine instead.

He stared at me as if i had just spoken in some alien toungue and started making moves towards his own powder satchel.
I quickly corrected my error and snapped it up for him myself.

Here he is witnessed drying his hands and rightfully so because it was hot and those jams were greasy!!

Getting into the hand/fist.
This crack easily punctured my Squamish/Yosemite worn hands. I was impressed.

Looking up at Wing Feather Pillar

Apparently Cover Boy didn't appreciate my artsy framing on this shot and decided to show me his butt...

nice mike
i spent an hour trying to get her bra off.
it was desperate in the dark
at least 5.9
i missed all the good holds,
killed the mood
and finally went to bed trading horrible beer
breath with just myself.

(before while earning that beer breath
i roped up two five tens
and one 5.9
so it was well worth the lonely summit

Ya Weege! Good to hear you're getting some pitches in!! You need to find that happy medium where you don't fumble!! lol

Jeremy getting started on p2

Justin on belay

Thanks Jeremy for catering to my risk level!! lol

oh look Justin, you can get a piece in down there and avoid the factor 2 potential!
Fvcking factor2 Mike... lol

Justin cruzing p3 after the crux

The view from the p2 belay was rather pleasant

p4 was a short one, so I had Justin put me on gri gri while he brought Jer up. A couple of feet up
I encountered a 5.6 flared chimney. I somehow managed to channel my inner chuck and scrape my body up the thing.

Both Jer and Justin went around the chimney...

Justin rapping off the back of the pillar

The Ross brothers walking off the back side.

If you walk off do not come over to the Red Eagle side.... even though the view is quite spectacular...

good god mike,
you should do a total pitch count for your trip
and tell that to your trainer.

i must imagine that you're blowing his / her mind.
i also hope that the climbing and daily stretching
are prompting your recovery into overdrive.

plus you got to meet of bunchy of generous punters from around here.

good job, man.
i and many other here are proud of you.

Thanks moose! Looking forward to getting to know you better at cor!

I haven't done pitch count yet Weege, but i did climb 11 out of 16 days. I'm paying for it now. I ditched my accupuncture appointment to go to index and damn is my back ever sore! Lol. I think i'm getting more sensation back in my spine, because it sure feels different than it used to..,
