Hi, Bobby, It's Virginia thinking about our trip into Purvis Meadow up the South Fork with you and Anne and Jim and fam. Good fish treats. It was lovely to be with you then and get to know you better. You even did dishes. I have prayed for you since I heard of your grave injury. I remember when I got the call that my brother was dying and he is alive still. We prayed with every breath and slowly he healed up and came home. I still pray for him, though. Point is, prayer calls the miracle and we are all focused on you, my friend. Wishing you healing. Virginia Livingston

I just read Mees's story about Bobby climbing the Silver Dollar on the 4th. I remember it well. I’m sure he was underage, and thus had minor problems getting into the bar, but he was not under motivated. Faith had no problem getting in to the joint, however, even though she was younger, Jake and I would muscle the door man into letting Faith and Booby in, as we were older than him, grew up with him and thus was easily influenced. But Bobby being an unattractive female was left out side by the open bar. Like always’s when Bobby saw a challenge he stepped up to it.-
It was probably a more amazing & technical climb for Bobby then the Trango expedition considering the condition's he was facing. A hostile crowd, Jagermister by the gallon, ancient crumbling mortar between the bricks, dollar beers, 4th of July it’s self (meaning he had been up for at least two day’s solid ( prior celebrating in the particular Wyoming cowboy way),total darkness, rattle snake skin cowboy boots (although looking back this could have been an advantage considering the rotten mortar and the way he was driving them in between the bricks, like ice climbing) Needless to say, he came, he saw, he conquered. It was seriously a mind blower seeing him up on the wall like some kind of spider man. I don’t think anyone ever though of climbing it. I vaguely recall that he was allowed into the bar after that and pouring a pitcher of beer on his head. I do know for a fact that he stayed at the Dollar celebrating until at least 6 that morning (the bars don’t close in Cody during the 4th) and he helped sweep the floor. It’s a little hazy but I think we threw him over the fence into his yard right after that, he was sleeping like a baby. Faith and everyone else passed out at my house all over my parents floor etc. But a good time was had by all. All of your friends are in Cody right now Bobby. We are gathering for you and having a party in your honor on the 3rd. We LOVE you, We Support You, We are Thinking and Praying for you ALL the time. I’ve spoken with a lot of people and in Cody in the past few day’s and YOU are on everyone’s mind. Faith, we have been talking about you incessantly. I just want you to know that we are here in Full Force supporting you and the family. We are all so thankful that Ann, Big Bob and family are there with you We cannot imagine what you have been through with Bobby, but one thing we agree on is that you were named FAITH for a reason, we all LOVE you so much.

Hey Bobby, The posts on this forum are bringing back some great memories. I was not present when you scaled the Silver Dollar but I do recall many of the yearly festivities in Cody over the 4th. We'll miss you tremendously over this holiday week....
I enjoyed the apologies that went with the Peanut Putter Pasta story and I have an apology of my own.... Many years ago I sat and watched you and Pat work your freshly bolted project at The Island. I watched, learned and memorized all the moves as you guys nearly sent it. When you'd had enough you graciously offered me the rope and I got the first ascent. I should have kept my seat and let you have at it the next day.. I'm sorry.

I understand there is a gathering on the 3rd in your honor in Cody. I would very much like to attend. Can any one post the details?

Faith and Bobby, tons of prayers and love as you begin a long journey almost home. I have to laugh at all the 4th stories and references. Big Bob was involved in a wee bit of my underage celebrations , when i was off duty babysitting you guys. There is no way I am old enough for you guys to be over 30!! Happy days ahead love, sarah (williams)

Ya know Bobby (and Crimpie), I thought Peanut Butter Pasta was sounding fingerlickin' good when I first read that story...

Then I read about how you snail-mailed it to a friend in a ZipLock bag...

Which brought back memories of opening 2-month-old Tupperware containers of pasta at the back of the fridge...

And I instantly started to gag and blow chow with the St. Louis crew! Thanks for the treat!

Bobby, I hope your trip to the big apple was uneventful and successful. Happy 4th of July. We are praying for you lots and are excited to hear of the great news. Keep strong Bobby. I can't wait to see you later this summer. All our love and support, Brooks, Kenzie and Lexi

PS. A little note that I stole from Bode Miller. "Joining will require that you agree to disagree whenever it feels necessary. It will require that you solemnly vow to be what you believe. It will require that you love to do at least one thing so badly that it hurts not to do it. It will require that you write your own creed and live it intensley, even if no one ever asks to see it. If you find these terms acceptable, LIVE ON!!!!!!" Well Bobby, Keep on livin'!!!!

JULY 5 UPDATE FROM FAITH:

Dear All,

Bobby and I made it to New York early yesterday morning and arrived at Mt.
Sinai around 6:30am. It was a very difficult trip for Bobby and much too
long. He is struggling with pneumonia again, so please keep your prayers and
healing energies elevated as you all do so powerfully. He does have the best
doctors on his case and is much more comfortable and I know relieved to be
here, as am I and the rest of our family. I will update you all later with
more details, but I did just want to send out a quick email to let you that
we had arrived and are glad to be home. We said teary goodbyes to the
nurses, doctors and those at the inn where were staying and it felt a bit
heart-wrenching to leave those that had become such an incredible support to
us over the past month. But it's also time to be home and time to be closer
to our extraordinary web of family and friends here--it's a relief. I felt
teary smelling the air when I finally stepped off the plane (the US has a
particular smell that is always my first informant that I've returned).

As for the celebrations in Cody over the weekend of the 4th, I can only
imagine...the mere thought unleashes a flood of memories. I'm sure you were
all in rare form and I'll be filling Bobby in, although he'll be
disappointed he wasn't present late night with camera in hand...At any rate,
we were there in spirit and I would imagine the toasts and celebrations
helped carry us through the flight back.

As always, our deepest deepest thanks and love to you all,

Faith

To Bobby's Family,

My prayers continue to go out ot you and Bobby. I saw the great Hindu saint, Amma ("the hugging saint") two days ago, during her visit to the Midwest from India. When I was with her, I asked her to please help heal Bobby. She is a powerful personage and her healing abilities are widely documented and profound. She sends healing prayers and the white light of compassion to you and Bobby.

With love,

Kira
