It was an epic gathering, thanks Ron Gomez and everyone who worked hard to pull this off.

I had fun trying to recall faces and names... we are all older now!!! The name tags helped- Mike Waugh has been going through a transformation!!!!

And it was good to see Yabo showed up.

Peace and Love to all.

Thanks to everyone who worked to put this together. Nice job. That was a pretty darn impressive collection of Yosemite climbing ‘history’ in one place, at one time. Nice service, great Bridwell stories, and good food. It was fun to see so many people who I hadn’t seen in so many years. Thanks also to the Park Service for their support and for getting Yellow Pines ready in such a short amount of time in order for us to be able to camp there.

what a wonderful time
truly a gathering of the tribe as only Jim could inspire

as the crowd ambled over for dinner, a peal of thunder broke from the clouds to the west, Peggy said "that's Jim, he's coming!"

Who could doubt that.

I'm really grateful to have joined the celebration on Saturday; the program was not only a great moment for preserving the history of Yosemite climbing and story-telling, but also a tender acknowledgement of Jim Bridwell's many contributions to the world. Big big thanks to Ken Yager and Ron Gomez (and everyone who spoke). I understand many strings were pulled for the lovely memorial; thank you for doing the legwork and setting the stage for reunions of all sorts.

Below is a short clip of the amphitheater scene during the pre-program mingle; a small taste of the communal and laid-back vibes.

As long as there are climbers in Yosemite, Jim will live on.

Big thanks to Ken Yager, Dale Bard, Don Mealing, Brian & Kate Kelleghan, YNP staff and to all who came to the event. It was a bookmark in climbing history and a blast to catch up with so many friends.

If you'd like to get one of the memorial T-shirts you can order here: https://bisondesigns.com/products/jim-bridwell-memorial-donation-tee

Don't think we have a pic of Ed yet. The man who gives us the sound, video and pictures for so many Yosemite events. Thanks Ed.

Thanks for the pictures everyone.

Did anyone run into Gary Bocarde? He is a friend from my Wawona days. He was on the first ascent of The Shield with Charlie Porter, and owned a guide service in Alaska.

Here are a couple more....what a fantastic gathering! We were told to be there at Noon. But what I didn't realize was that the actual Memorial didn't start until 2 pm, thus many of us got there at 10:00-11:00 to socialize. This translated into @ 8 hours of time to catch up on the past and present. Awesome, but left many of us in a zombie mode after hours of non stop gab. But hey, it was once in a man's life time, right?

Lynnie,

I showed that wedding picture from 1970 to Jerry Anderson and he could only identify one person that you weren't able to ID. He also said it was HIS wedding not Mike White's wedding, as Whitey seems to believe.

Did anyone video the slide show/memoration's? If not, that's a shame; if so, give up the goods.

Mastadon, Thanks! Who was the person and where in the picture? And you know that makes sense if Jerry's bride is in the white dress. I wonder....could it have been Jerry's wedding and Mike's wedding reception all in one?
