I found it discouraging (to me) of a complex response or fish out a picture from the archives when a thread I was posting to got deleted. I mean, why waste 15-20 min hunting a single link to support one of my points in an interesting and complex discussion if the tread was going to get whacked? I wanted to keep track of people who deleted threads so that I wouldn't waste my time on a real post or heartfelt, meaningful and complex response in one of their threads. I can simply toss a meaningless but pithy one liner in 5 seconds and add a graphic of Krusty the Clown or some such and walk away not caring if it gets deleted. I figured that it would improve the depth of the conversations on here for me and others who feel like me. The list was not meant to degrade anyone and again, many times I passed on adding a deleted thread if it would have clearly caused personal pain to the poster. I hope you can accept that and not let my list bother you any more. I apologize if *anyone* felt it was kept to demean them or anyone else. It wasn't.

I am with Couchmaster....I think this is a wonderful resource .....you get to see if somebody is going to "Just erase" all the work you put into a subject.... one time I went so far as to dig into my closet collection of old slides of some back in the day stuff, scan it, and post up some pertinent information with photos..... only to have the author get all butt hurt and DELETE my work along with all the other work.

So fool me once.... fool me twice...maybe- but never again.

Keep this one going please.

I value this thread as a reference to find threads that have been deleted and thus no longer appear with a search.

For example, Pat Callis' account of his attempt on the Emperor Face of Mount Robson:

A true climbing "historian" would consider the importance of such accounts, rather than delete them.

Yea, OK.

IMHO, if you're taking your posts so seriously that you need to maintain a public record of people who deleted their threads (a heartfelt public shaming!), so as not to waste your posting time, you may have already passed the point of wasting your time :-) (Let me be the first to raise my hand - guilty!)

But spend your time however you choose. Hopefully we can forgive you, and the people who delete their threads, for it.
