Busy busy busy, indeed.
(But at least my head's not in the clouds)
I got in a call to Jim Shirley this morning for a report on his shoulder replacement--ball & socket & shaft of the right arm are new.
Technical name for this procedure is "total shoulder arthroplasty" (TSA).
He's had knee surgery too, in the past, so he was ready for the severity of the pain, more or less.
He's looking at 6 weeks or more of rehabbing. He hopes to still hit jumpers from the top of the key like he used to do.
This is nothing compared to some here on this board.
I'm thinking primarily of Cosmic "V12" Cragsman and Fossil Climber Merry.

Dr. Brown is one of the smartest fellows I ever met. However, it took him from 1962 to 1972 to finish his Ph.D. That's 3 more than that other Brown.
Did he invent the cloud? Probably half of it.
His dog was named Sofie and she was a Newfie.
This isn't her, but she would lay like this in the classroom and drool buckets.

zBrown, the Weirdo Shirts were a good deal at 4/$6.95, but I'm wondering (again and still) what the cost was for shipping. The ad does not mention that.
Of course, back then the customer paid, as shipping was REALLY CHEAPO!
Here's the current pickle in Amazon/customer relations: Who REALLY PAYS for the shipping?
http://www.cnet.com/news/your-impulse-buys-are-costing-amazon-a-fortune/
I'm not an Amazon shopper, myself. I do occasionally shop online, though.
I used to love the Blue Light Specials, but The local K-Mart's closed in Merced; there's still one out in Atwater...like I'm going to AT-water to buy anything--the bus fare alone is killer at $1.00. That's the senior half-fare price, too. The Blue Light Specials have probably gone the way of twenty-five cent first class postage anyhow.
Even a postage stamp for a postcard is 35 cents now. That was a shocker, lemme tellya!
The Merced Mall has no stores that appeal to me, other than the Big 5--I buy all my socks there, but have gone sockless for a while now because of the swelling in my feet from CHF. They won't fit into my shoes with socks on them. The Ross store next door to the Food 4 Less is just a wasteland, leaving the 98-cent store, the 99-cent store, and the Dollar Store.
Downtown only caters to entertainment and food and flower shops and Asian food shoppers. Useless to me, for the most part, though I do like the Hmong carrots a lot.
It's no wonder a lot of people go to Modesto to shop. Come to think, it's always been that way, unless you have plenty of money and can afford the expense of paying full tab at Penny's or Kohl's. But it's all relative and based on whether a car is available or not.
So now the Amazonians are trying to market their stuff so PRIME customers are urged to bundle their small purchases, thereby saving the company some green.
I bought some camera sensor cleaning solution and swabs from Walmart online last week and the shipping was not much, just a couple of bucks. The small amount of fluid involved and the small number of swabs sent don't warrant a ten dollar price tag, EXCEPT no one here in town carries that item--I've checked it a couple of times at all the major retailers. So if that's the case, I can only bite the bullet and do it because it's the only game in town.
At least I won several games of Mah-Jong on the computer tonight.
And I'm getting this free tablet for taking part in a medical research project. But then I'll have to subscribe to Verizon Wireless. Guess I should begin checking out bundling of the phone and the computer along with that.
And now I'm being told that Google Chrome will not be supporting Windows Vista any longer so I won't be getting updates.
These are all such first world problems, though, that I should not complain.
I could complain about not being able to sleep tonight, but I slept all day Tuesday and most of the day Wednesday and napped much of today away. What do I expect?

Leave no trace is a necessary art in small rock double hockey stick, it preserves continued access,
and grows a sense of owner ship to blocks.
From a climbers point of view,
It would look so much more substantial covered with chalked holds
somethings are just to fun this chunk when found will be it's own ruin...
Frantic to mop up ,
that's not my bag
sandbag,
sucks to blow out any pair of shoes
Sand and grit, bagging
now I'm emptying what last week I filled
Sisyphus ?,
a stern warning of storm warning for a life of down and ups to he who fails to see the irony,
If you sandbag before the melt and are successful,
the soggy bags need to goo as fast as possible before they 'grow ' funky,
To control this chaos I work , spread sand on a large ply wood board and keep a pile of course agrigate under a tarp
by a face cord of cherry and oak that has a legacy, it moved with us 10+ yrs ago .,

Shipping? The real thrill was driving up there to pick up your shirt and hanging with Big Daddy.
He made mine onsite at the Balboa Park Electric Building (arsonized in 1978) Car Show.
My friend Bill organized a sweatshirt-in in eigth grade when the 'Man" was giving us too much guff about our w-shirts. Everybody but me was sent home to change. I managed to wear my colors the whole day. Beat that.
I guess it ws karma in action when I got "expelled" from high school for smoking in the parking lot. I got to spend a whole day at Chub's Club Card Room and Pool Hall on Third Avenue. Hahahahahahhaa Mr. Geyer.
