The Obama Administration, has begun normalization processes, with two countries, with which we formerly had good relations, Iran and Cuba.
To do this, they had to walk back a policy of basing all of our international relations with other countries congruent with their policies on human rights. It's a huge pragmatic swing. Long overdue IMO FWIW.
In the debate last night, pragmatism was mentioned. Were the Democrats to implement a pragmatic policy on immigration, they would be more in sync with the American people. Simply applying the grossly overused "Facist" "Racist" "Nazi" labels to any immigration controls may fail to win them seats in Congress and may even cost them the Presidency.

8years of this stranger in the white house is the result of non working togetherness! I'm glad i didn't vote for Obama.. although the CHANGE never happened..
Tell that to gay people, who can now marry.
Tell that to millions of Americans, who now have medical insurance
Tell that to all of us benefiting from cheap gas, while at the same time importing much less oil than in the past

“I want to build up the military so nobody messes with us,” Trump said when asked what he would do first, if elected. “I would bring it (military levels) back to where it was at the height because we’re in such trouble.”
Which height?
Truman v. Trump
When is someone going to ask Trump about whether he will use nuclear weapons?

Escopeta posted Oh yeah. They are DEEPLY divided. The difference between being flushed down a porcelain toilet or a stainless steel one.
Both parties working to expand the government, transfer wealth and reduce individual freedom in the manner they see fit.
Yeah, that's soooo much different.
It requires an enormous amount of privilege to have this viewpoint.

I agree with you in a broader sense but please flash back to Gore vs Bush.
Ralph Nader professed the exact same logic. There's a negligible difference between the two parties.
People that understood the math, begged Nader to drop out and endorse Gore.
He didn't- Gore lost Florida by about 500 votes, Nader received around 97,000 votes. Every mathematical scenario results in Gore as the President had Nader droped out.
As a result of the "Party Collusion" theory that Nader clung to and ran on, was:
The US was absolutely gutted and quartered; economicly, militarily, socially and global instability was in creased exponentially. The police state is an every day, part of our lives, out of necessity.
The Iraq war would not have happened under Gore-period. Gore's "Economic Lock Box" to maintain a surpluss for the eventual economic downturn was routinely made fun of in the press but is rarely mentioned these days.
Trump is more dangerous than Bush and there does exists a lesser of two evils.

The Iraq war would not have happened under Gore-period.
It could be argued that 9/11 wouldn't have occurred under Gore, either.
Bin Laden and Al Qaeda said that their primary grievance with the U.S. was the American military presence in Saudi Arabia. Bush's father and Cheney, as Secretary of Defense in 1990, were the primary proponents for the military presence there. When Bush II and Cheney were fraudulently elected co-Presidents, all hell broke loose.
Had Gore been elected, it is possible that the absence of the Bush+Cheney administration would have resulted in less aggravation for the extremists.

Any predictions on Congress? Bernie winning, would be essentially what we have now, an out of control Congress, counterweighted by a Democratic Pres.
But any of the Republicans win and retake both houses, you are looking at a sea change. Based on what happened before, a nightmare.
Here in nyc, Trump has been around a long time, when people hear the Rascist/Fascist/Nazi label, for his Muslims policies, not all believe it. People understand Trump is a bitnis man. When you mess up, you get fired. Immigrants, have messed up. Most of them get this now. They are fired.
The ironic thing, that no one either gets, or can say, is the brunt of Immigrant Islamic rage, and the Immigrant Latin Gangs too, is directed at Women, LGBTers, People of Colour. Key Democratic constituencies. Trump, will get an increasing volume of secret support from these groups. Continue to deny this and prepare to enjoy the nightmare.

pyro: you wouldn't recognize logic if it came wearing a neon sign and bit you on your ass.
Trump declared bankruptcy three times. Fact. I was corrected by someone who pointed it out that the correct number was four.
Your hero is the idol of every white power group in the U.S., and every word he utters drips with animosity to minorities, immigrant, and women.
He supports an aggressive foreign policy which will DEFINITELY cost U.S. lives, yet his "patriotism" somehow allowed him to seek repeated draft deferments during the Viet Nam war - a war that cost the lives of over 60,000 U.S. servicemen who were infinitely better citizens than he is.

ny predictions on Congress?
sure
When Hillary wins the Presidency the down ticket effect combined with the high number of Senate seats the Republican have to defend puts the Senate back
in control, albeit narrowly, of the Democrats
the House will stay Republican for at least another 6 years due to the redistricting
job the Republican controlled state legislatures have done over the past 15 years
and so divided government continues, and nothing gets passed the benefits either the lower or middle classes while the very rich continue to get....much richer of course
due to very favorable tax policy and control of the means of production
bottom line, the Republicans cannot get to 270 Electoral Votes to be President, period

The election will hinge on turnout. Can any of you Progresso idiots imagine a large enthusiastic turnout for your old stinking bag of gas. Try to imagine if you were young again, would you be inspired by Hildabeast?
Trump is a populist with an exciting crossover message you've already heard a little of. Cruz is a first class orator and you can be sure he has the machine to turn out the base.
Please don't be whining when the rout is done.

The Iraq war would not have happened under Gore-period.
Not only did Al Gore lead the fight in Congress for regime change in Iraq, his main reason for doing so was Saddam's search for a nuclear weapon...
Al Gore (aka: Sex Poodle) was a war monger before he wasn't a war monger...

question for you norton - or anyone that wishes to take a stab at this:
the House will stay Republican for at least another 6 years due to the redistricting
what shifts it 6 years? Is it because of the redistricting people move to districts that represents their beliefs?
The thing is with Clownstick given the current field for the GOP where zero policy is discussed and hateful bigoted warmongering rhetoric reigns free there's no comparison to what it will look like for the POS once standing across from ANY of the Dems where truth, substance and policy is actually discussed.

The only thing that most Trump supporters care about is having liberals heads explode
what kind of desire is that?
a sick and twisted one
They love nothing more than sticking it to the libs, like we are the enemy.
Little do they know that only thing left good in this country are liberal policies, they would rather shoot themselves in the head than face the facts that the Republicans screwed them every possible way.
Do they want interment camps as well?
Yes, Socialists go first

WTF?
You want our President to say he won't pay the bills?
How is that going to work?
Just screw the debtors, F-em, right?
WHY?
You guys just never bother thinking, just repeat the stupidest things because they sound good coming out of someone's mouth
why not just raise taxes so we can pay off our debt, like any family would do with their house hold debt?
That's what the Dems want to do, the Repubs won't allow us to pay down the debt.
What you advocate is like not paying the mortgage on the house and moving out on to the street to save money.
You can't just stop paying for the very thing that keeps you alive, you have to make more money if you can't cut spending.
And the Republicans will never cut spending enough to pay down the debt because of their cronies in the military industrial complex and the income from taxes will never be high enough because of all the tax cuts for the rich and Corps, so hence we get the Republican $18 Trillion in debt that will never be paid down a cent as long as they are in control of congress.

what shifts it 6 years? Is it because of the redistricting people move to districts that represents their beliefs?
no
demographics, the gradual dying off of the older white people who still vote Repub
in addition to the continuing and rapid growth of much better educated young people
of all races who vote overwhelmingly Democratic
in further review, six years is likely too optimistic, more likely 8 minimum
and at that point both houses of congress and the Presidency will be Democratic
and likely stay that way for quite a while unless the Dems do something really stupid
like invade another country based on lies or whatever
