That's where you are wrong Jonnyrig. Neither Bob nor I said the majority of gun owners are (fill in the blank..). Au contraire it has been the staunchest defenders of the 2nd Ammendment that have played the guilt by association card. What I and others decry is the sensless and avoidable carnage that is wrought on innocent people by gun weilding maniacs. Defending gun ownership is one thing. Not condemning the slaughter is another thing entirely. To watch the daily story of senseless violence at gunpoint and not think there must be a better more rational approach than a have at it free for all is crazy. To assume that people like me are advocating round ups and confiscation is absurd.
By the way after 7 or so years of Obama unconstitutional reign of terror how many guns have been "rounded up". Never mind all of America but have any of the gun owners on ST actually had their guns rounded up and confiscated? I'd really like to know.

The local constabulary was driving around their MRAP this morning though on a public highway. Bunch of assclowns. They were doing about 70 on a 50. Top speed is supposed to be around 45 for that thing due to the weight.

Interesting that saint philo of dung seemingly wants to make it harder on all those immigrants, the poverty class and working poor by closing the stores where their coins get them the most.. But saying you hate walmarts is sooo trendy isn't it.
The reason why it's so "cheap" is that is that much of their crap is is built by third world laborers toiling in sh#t working and environmental conditions. And the American employees aren't prospering either. Taxpayers are paying for subsidies for the working poor employed in many places, such as Wally World, where management cuts as many corners as possible and workers can't afford many necessities, let alone a good quality of life..
So someone is paying the costs--dearly--but not the good old u s of a consumers, "thankfully."

The Vatican announced this week that they will be formally recognizing the state of Palestine, with a treaty that shifts diplomatic allegiance from the Palestinian Liberation Organization to the state of Palestine.
Reverend Federico Lombardi, a spokesman for the Vatican told the Associated Press that the new treaty was in fact a recognition of the state of Palestine. “Yes, it’s a recognition that the state exists,” he said.
Until now the population of Palestine has been under the control of Israel, and puppet committees that are set up to pose as representatives for the people.
Politicians in Israel are already condemning the treaty, as it works against their interests of occupying the Palestinian territory.
“This move does not promote the peace process and distances the Palestinian leadership from returning to direct and bilateral negotiations. Israel will study the agreement and will consider its steps accordingly,” a representative with the Israeli foreign ministry told the AP.
Earlier this week, we reported that Pope Francis made some extremely strong comments about how powerful people profit from war. This new move is the latest in a long line of unprecedented statements by the Pope, possibly signaling a shift in the politics of the Vatican.
Though the issues in the Middle East may seem complicated with how drawn out the peace talks are and how much the media confuses the issue, things really are not that difficult.
