Lurking & checking in - haven't received my gift yet, but I'm sure it's in the mail :) Good on you, Happi, for receiving a bonus gift - can't think of anyone more deserving. Enjoy!

hey there say, ... mine will get to its 'neating place'
on monday...

hopefully... :)

and, it is for opening on CHRISTMAS EVE, BUT:
IT IS NOT WRAPPED.... :o

SO you will have to
leave it in its 'ugly' ol box,...

it is very rare that i can get wrapping paper and this year
i USED what i had, all-up on a 'secret project' :))

but, you knowwwww, if YOU HAVE wrapping paper, you can WRAP OVER THAT
ol' BIG FLAT BOX up and make it look TWICE as
FUN!!! (family just might love to help!)

i mean, there is only one
christmas eve, each year... hoping you get some FUN FANFARE out of it!
:)

here it is AGAIN:

Just seen my SS received her gift from me (phew that's a relief). So the box on my kitchen table contains not one but three gifts. Do I open them now or save them for a few more days?

That was recycled neebee wrapping, H.
I DO know your taste, and it's apparently all that!
It will spin, and you can throw it at the dog.

Dear Secret Santa....if you are awaiting a note from me, do not despair. I am currently with my son in Europe doing Euro trash skiing. Then headed to Australia to visit with Ferretlegger's brother. My neighbor is collecting my mail. However I have very infrequent internet connectivity but if I get info from them I'll post up if I get a connection. I'll be home sometime after Christmas and look forward to all that home promises!

^^ I was hoping. :)

So, the gifts have been beneath Rudy the Rooster waiting for opening. We don't do trees or anything. Any sort of 'decoration' you see at our home is up year around (including the mallard with the Santa Hat which sings Freebird).

I went first (I woke up feeling a bit puny so I'm still trolling around in fleece looking a bit scrappy). (Dave's opening TR will follow). First opened was the little box. The little box screamed "sparkly inside" and I was not disappointed! Beautiful key chain. Did you make it Pocoloco? Really gorgeous and very much appreciated. :)

Next, a book. I knew it was a book from copious fondling over the week. :) But what book was it???

Wow! No joke - WOW! What a gift! LOVE.IT. LOVE. IT!! (And no, I don't own this book already!)

This is a book I've been ogling for a while. It contains tons (and I mean TONS) of amazing color photos of all the Birds of Paradise and great information about them and their habitat. More info here about the project: http://www.birdsofparadiseproject.org/.

From the Preface: "Eight years. Eighteen expeditions. Fifty-one unique field sites. Thirty-nine species of birds-of-paradise, all photographed in the wild for the first time in history."

The book was made possible by Cornell Lab of Ornithology, a place I donate to frequently, and National Geographic. I love their work.

For those who want to see a wee bit about these birds. Here's a youtube of some bird-of-paradise mating dances: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7QZnwKqopo. Amazing, eh?!?!

The book is really an amazing gift and I'm so very thankful Pocoloco! I truly love it! I know how my afternoon will be spent!

My mom gave me this when I left the nest at 18.
I'm 43 now.

Really, Jefe? You haven't lost your keys in 25 years? Wow...

Got my package today, it was sent with no return address...sneaky! :)

Going to wait until Christmas when Skip opens her "don't open until Xmas" package.

Woohoo!

Got my keys switched over to the new key chain. Just last week I was looking at mine - all the nice stuff had fallen off - and thought I need a new one. Perfect gift/perfect timing!

CG convinced me that we should open our SS gifts before Christmas day, so here we go.

Thank you Secret Santa for my very snazzy leather-bound adventure journal! I hope to fill it with fun memories this year - :)

So...who is my Secret Santa? Very secret so far...and CG isn't giving any clues!

Too much fun seeing Crimpergirl and Brassnuts opening their gifts. I caved and opened. After all, it is the perfect night. The children are gone and I'm home alone enjoying all the Christmas decorations on a gorgeous So Cal eve.

ST Secret Santa gifts are special. I convinced myself that they should be opened on a night like tonight. So here goes......Naughty or Nice, we will soon see.

Ahhh, but first a tiny bit of spiced brandy. Join me if you please. A toast to Strider and all the Secret Santa's. Cheers!
