A reasonable facsimile resemblance twenny years and beers and blues gone by.
But neither he nor I are still as spry
As we once were when fur did fly
And cats did cry
Bongs would fly
But they were just Raccoon Banditti
Lookin' for a city they could live in

Don't call me Brown.
How do you cow?
The classic cow-jumping moon tonight.
Now, zBrown, an ice-climbing brujo like you, you've seen elephant dung if not THE elephant.
I liked the elephant, trunk 'n' the pink 'n' the brown heffalump. Was that oak, eh? Otay.Scorning the low-lifes and scarfing the High-Lifes in an attempt to attain beervana.
The Red Roadent, my friends. Long may it keep strawberries red, the Flames stoked, and keep on truckin'. But first, I'm gonna send you all a leetle song.
The Last Country Song
It's the last country song by the last country band
In the last honky-tonk in the world
It's the last country dance on the last hardwood floor
For the last country boy and girl
And there will be no more steel pedal to the metal
If the people don't know what they're worth
It's the last country ride beneath the last countryside
For the last country people in Middle Earth
It's the last country song on the last country jukebox
By the last country singer alive
It's the last country tear in the last cold beer
It's the last country song that survive
There will be no more mandolins and banjos
Them gas prices has tore us apart
It's the last country fill-up at the last country station
And just by doin' nothin' I'm holdin' you in my heart

Think of Jamestown, first city.
I'm a little freaked.
Find myself a city to live out.
People in El Paso have no idea where in the world we are.
Well, instrumental in finding cities to live in, I finally figured it in.

Points north, too.

It is the 150th Anniversary of the preservation of Yosemite. There is a sesquicentennial commemorative book due out on May 13.
Inspiring Generations: 150 Years, 150 Stories
by Anniversary Story Book Committee
Sort of explains itself well in the title.
Excerpted from "Persistence of Vision: A Tribute to My Friend, Ranger Dick Ewart" by Beth Pratt
Our fingers touch a carving left by sheepherders over a hundred years ago. We try to puzzle out the date but the bark has transformed the numbers into an unrecognizable shape, like a drop of water blotting out letters in ink. The tree has made hieroglyphs of another time.
Around us, he points out the configuration of downed trees and wonders aloud if it might be the remnants of a sheep pen. I follow his gesturing hand and the scene comes alive for me: the corralled sheep, the men by the fire, sipping whiskey, perhaps singing a ballad to stave off the lonely sound of the wind. Or carving a date in a tree, never imagining that one hundred years later a curious girl would stand trying to puzzle out the numbers.
We hike on, and I follow my guide, captivated by the sense of wonder he instills in me. I think myself lucky to have such a fine teacher. Further along he kneels and sifts soil in between his fingers. Ash from a volcano, the Mammoth eruption over seven hundred thousand years ago, he tells me. I bend down next to him and sift the soil as well, imagining the enormous volcanic cloud overhead and the chill wind that blew when the ash blotted out the sun.
This is what we see together while we hike. This is what he shows me.

This is a showcase, is what this is, this "thread we got."
Welcome to Jay, who is and always will be LostInShanghai, and to his "scanner". He and I met at Facelift 2012 at Degnan's, where so many old friendships took route. The adventures we've shared since are treasured, man. There's a lot of trivia here, and a "bait" of history, a "smidgen" of climbing content--it's all around, so who needs all that much here, to my way of thinking--and seemingly silly unrelated garbage.
Let's face it, it's not designed to appeal to anyone in particular...because it's not designed in the first place!
Say X Tempore Games. I dare you.
I'm from Generation Ex. Former. Back-dated. Not current, but hanging on. Still and all, looking forwards as well as backwards. And vice-versa.
Pre-mutations abound.
Plans are not our specialty here, though they are useful in the rest of the world.Like Camp 4, it can be a bleak place or a happy place. No one is really controlling that. This is not the Outer Limits.
The finger of fate is fickle and I can't even control it's cuticle.
Right now Camp 4 is cold as an icicle.
This is a niece place to be, near to the Flames.
THE Niece, the nice kindergarten teacher, let me lead her as far as the FAT PACK would let her.We don't like selfies, though they are quite the thing. We limit them, but that's understandable when you see my mug.

The Flames is a car club for guys and mamas who don't got wheels. I don't no longer gots wheels, mon. I'm flamed out on drivin' and traffic lights and gas wastin' guzzlers goin' by not cruisin' like I.
What's the rush? Yer all gonna die, why get there that much faster and with piles to boot, which I've noticed, too much cribing can gib you piles and that reminds me of Raider fans. Sorry for the detour, amigos.
"There may have been drugs drugs involved," as they are in some postings here, "there may have been drugs involved."
There were definitely.

I never get any summit shots anymore, as if I ever got many in the first place. But there are sun shots. Orbs fascinate and abound.Bang the drum and light the joss sticks.I try to be inspiriting, welcoming, and an not the wild boy of Camp 4 days except in my mems.
I've learned some things. I've heard some things, yeah. Marty talks too much, and I heard some things.
Some things, sure, but my lips are sealed. It's all in the vault.
