The consensus in the thread on AR15.com, seems to be, the guy in Walmart saved a lot of lives by slowing them down.
It's tough when a fundamental tenet of their gun religion has been shown to be false, they have to adjust the facts to suit their beliefs. The fact is the guy would be alive if he hadn't been carrying. The couple had plenty of opportunity to shoot unarmed civilians, they only wanted LEO's.

I applauded that person who shot the crazed dude in Arizona. The one who shot the lady politician.
Nobody shot him, he was hit with a chair as he reloaded!

F*#k the NRA, f*#k gun rights. There is a mass shooting every other week ore more because of this permissive insanity. I don't give a flying f*#k about the Constitutional amendment. Amend it again.

If the body count has anything to do with the success of your attempt to amend the Constitution, your best chance would have been in about '95, because the body count has declined by about 40% since then.

Chaz is right. Firearm homicides spiked in the 90's peaking at around 16,000. Since then they have dropped to a totally acceptable 11,000 in 2010. Problem solved!

Well he provoked all right and two Police Officers are dead. Where's the outrage?
I'm on the left, and I'm outraged. A convicted felon was among those at the Bundy ranch, he gave his real name on TV and was still at large two months later. If there aren't more arrests very soon, I'll be pissed.

Australia is a very good example of a country coming to it's senses.
And it has worked. From Bob D'As article
There had been 11 gun massacres in the decade preceding 1996, but there have been no mass shootings since. This is a source of national pride, though statisticians still argue about what caused the change.

How are tough gun laws working in Mexico?
How do you know toughening the gun laws won't have the same negative effect here as they've had in Mexico? Especially when our population has much more in common with Mexico than with Australia.

Australia and the US have functional police and judicial systems, Mexico doesn't have either.

well, one good reason is that the US is not Mexico
secondly, we already know very clearly from individual state firearm laws that there is a direct correlation laws and firearm deaths
for example: Massachusettes has the most restrictive gun laws and the least firearm deaths
example: Alaska has the least restrictive gun laws and the most gun deaths
per capita, of course
