"A couple of nice ladies worked on my leg"

You're lucky that didn't cause temporary inflammation ;-)

Thanks for the updates. Wishing you well

This thread is overdue to die out. I see
both the specialist and my doctor tomorrow,
then more physical therapy on Friday. I should
be well on my way and ready for the trip to
Boulder... Thanks everyone for taking an interest
in this strange odyssey. It's onward with life,
let's hope, with fewer setbacks.

You can't let this die until we hear about second your visit to the specialist.

I won't consider this thread over until I see a post from Patrick of a length and complexity similar to the first few.

But if he is starting to feel like himself again, bravo!

The specialist said today he is confident I suffered
some pretty good nerve damage in the thigh area, and
in some cases nerve damage can manifest as pain in a different
location than the actual place of injury, hence the pain in
my kneed and areas above my knee, though the main point of
trauma was higher on the outside of my thigh. He said it
may take some time, and so onward and upward I go. I have
my work cut out for me. Doing better, though.

After I had abdominal surgery which involved cutting me horizontally from one side to the other, my surgical wound tingled like pins and needles for almost two years after, which the doctors said was quite normal due to nerve damage.

Meanwhile, be sure and take B vitamin supplements to help repair your nerves.

Yes I do feel as though I've turned a corner.
I'm sure for a few weeks I will continue to
wake up sore, from the previous day's activity.
They have taught me some techniques for massage of
my leg with movements upward, to stimulate nerves
and help blood more properly flow...

Pat after yelling at you way back on this thread to go the F'ing doctor already, I've watched silently and worried for how much pain you have had.

Really glad things are turning the corner.

I guess I was kind of stubborn or something, or
maybe it was just that I was delirious. Who knows?
Strangely, I have a mountain of medical bills now,
for going so that I could be told everything I pretty
much believed in the first place... but at least I know
and have the best advice...
