The folks who brought me up to speed on the Trumpocolypse well before it was "newsworthy" are saying that AOC may well be a Russian asset. Guess what - they say it about Jill Stein and Bernie Sanders(although to be fair they say Bernie is not likely to be knowingly going along with the plan, but being used to divert from a sustainable Democrat base.
Watch her voting records, NYers, is about all I can say.
The tactic is supposedly being used in several states. Be careful on who we vote into office - research their past! These people who are coming out of nowhere with well-funded campaigns....red flag.

Thing is, you could have told those same people who are raving about AOC's supposed Russian influence that Trump also had potentially similar influences and they would have voted for him anyway. Funny how ethics work.

I'm confused about what you wrote Apogee.... The folks who I am getting this info from were not Trump voters. Who are you referring to?
FWIW, it's come out that Russian cyber warfare has been used on Brexit, Venezuala, France and German campaigns. They don't care if they are getting a GOP as president - just that they get people in whom they can control. We had better get smart, as a voting/media digesting public, and quick.
A few days ago, a Russian news source had a story saying that the US Intelligence community was preparing for civil war and a dissolution of the US government. The source on Twitter laughed it off and wrote "Projection much?"
I'm not laughing. Our intelligence community is unlikely to be "preparing for civil war," but that does not mean that the object of the oligarths isn't civil war in this country.
Someone here in good old AZ made a comment, when I said "let's hope we don't have a second shutdown," that he felt the next step would be the declaration of a National Emergency and Marshal Law.
Now, we've all heard "Emergency" from the boy who cried wolf(DT), but I haven't heard any whispers of Marshal Law.
I'm not ready to cry the sky is falling, but with some thinking I thought "What IF DT DID declare Marshal Law? What would the reaction of the general population be?
The majority, at first would complain on the internet(that would be me included) but action beyond that not taken. However.....
I don't think it would be difficult at this point to get some groups taking actions that could/would lead this country into a civil war. I really, really, don't.
It's time to get smart folks, and stop the devisive bickering. We MUST look to our similarities instead of focusing on differences to get through this.
Unless of course, you want to see your national parks sold off as estates for wealthy mobsters and mined to smithereens for the goods that lay below the surface.
This land is your land, and my land. We must protect it. Putin and crew would be more than thrilled to see us self-righteous Americans tossed off our high horses and struggling like the average Russian has for years on end. Would love to be "drinking our milkshake," so to speak.

I misinterpreted your post, Happi...although undoubtedly there are some on the Right who would believe that AOC has Russian influence....but would have given Trump a pass regardless.

"Martial law".... sorry... English major here.
Nobody's declaring Martial law... it's the same BS they used to write about Barry declaring martial law and ruling forever.
The only time you'd see it would be if the revolution were truly underway which is never going to happen until people are really really hungry.

Used to frequently hear about Bush declaring martial law, as well.
Both Russia and China are active in cyber-warfare.
I agree with Happi's point about Russia stirring up sh#t in all the major pots around the globe. It's about creating unrest. Chaos.
I've never thought Trump conspired with the Ruskies in '16. Still waiting for something more than circumstantial evidence. But it's pretty clear they threw their efforts behind Trump. Why? To cause discord. to divide the country. The result has probably far exceeded their expectations.

You would be grossly mistaken. If Homeland Security is coordinating a response to civil unrest caused by solar storms causing a widespread power failure with the Pentagon and other agencies then it doesn’t take a Poirot to deduce that they are ‘gaming’ other scenarios.*
As for our oligarths wanting a civil war you need to stock up on tin foil! That would severely impact the bottom line! Keep the Ding Dongs on the shelves and the fake news rolling!

Russian influnce no longer means socialism or communisim. It is flat out mafiaism. The power elite of Russian ready to grab cash in any possible way.

I say she is a Bolshevik in spirit, but not under Russian influence. Her wing of the DP, if strong enough, might not allow diversity in the Party. Look at the power exercised by the Clinton Machine prior to the last election.

Any candidate that says Universal Health Care is not at the very top of the list and is not 100% committed to implementing such a program, might as well step down now. Add to this the insane amount of $ spent on defense, Wall Street and corporate thievery, the Super Pac mess and gerrymandering and one can get an idea of how f*#ked up this country is right now. Christ I almost forgot our new Superior Court Justice.
AOC and her progressive concepts are not new, they have been around a long time but have mostly been buried in BS political obfuscation or given minor lip service to keep the base hopeful. Hopefully her spark will entice some of the more stagnant members to get serious or get out. Perhaps we have seen the demise of the two party system and the next Presidential election will have an Independent in the Oval Office. I guess our soon to be interim President Pelosi will have something to say about this.....

Before you scoff that the media would never cover Democratic infighting and scandals, keep in mind this is the most wonderful time of the presidential cycle for those of us on the Right, as Democratic candidates attempt to shiv each other through leaks of opposition research.
This illustrates an earlier comment: while the Left continues to slash at each other as they jockey for political position in their own Party, it only serves the interests of the Right.
The entire Democratic Party needs to use the strengths that already exist in their Party to focus a laser-beam straight sledgehammer blow to the whacknut extremes that have become the Republican Party. AOC has tremendous strengths...combine that with the political experience of Pelosi, and the resulting effect would be dynamite.
