A comment about the Republican debacle from the NY Times about 15 minutes ago re what are the Repubs really, honestly, f*#king, thinking:
"It is an excellent thing that the Republican leaders have noticed the problem they’ve fostered, now embodied in the Trump candidacy."
"The problem is embodied in the Rubio and Cruz candidacies as well. I don't say this to defend Trump, but to recognize the scope of the problem. Not a single one of these candidates is qualified to be president. We have a rigid evangelical ideologue, a carnival barker and an empty suit. These three candidates are the remaining choices, as selected by a Republican base that the party leadership exploited, fomented and can no longer control. It is a base that no longer understands or values democracy. I'd laugh about just desserts were it not so terrifying for our nation."
Pretty much says it all. God save America. And I'm an atheist.

I can only agree. We are so-fuked if any of those losers end up as president.

The quality of the republican party is obvious to anyone watching these "debates".
How one could vote for anyone that displays such idiotic childish behavior to run the USA is beyond me.
I can not for the life of me explain to the international community I interact with daily how Americans could even contemplate electing any of these buffoons.
Surely our great country has more potential than what we are witnessing.
Very sad IMO.

Looking at who's left and what we're in for has me feeling a little queezy.
At least we had a pragmatic, centrist and solid family man the last 7 years to calm the waters and flake the rope a bit for the next administration.
