Why don't you take a picture? It lasts longer.
Famous words. Lasting. They get the point across like a photograph.
Concision. A normal-sized word of merit. Big words and lots of them are bunk.
The Big Picture. A black and white series of 1950s vintage dealing with the fight against Commies. I looked forward to the BIG picture each Saturday morning before cartoons, even.
Now I look back and the picture is so much larger.
Time has gone by like the wind past the wings in the Skytrain that Boomer flew.
The Porky Pig cartoons, the Rough Rider, Crusader Rabbit, howdy and goodbye, and thanks again, Uncle Walt, especially.
If streams were conscious they might not like the things that we put in them.
My streaming costs nothing. It is constant in my mind. I would that I could share it more readily.
But the fact is that you stream your stream. We all stream what we stream.
I want some egg cream. The whimsical connection is Lou Reed. This IS the secret underground Velvet Underground thread, is it knot?

hey there say, mouse...
here is the twelve days of christmas gifts, to you from us 12-13 folks!
very sorry, dear group, about the lost box...
NEVER had this EVER happen:
here is the FIRST GIFT--poem at bottom:
For the FIRST day towards Christmas, came a gift that was so sweet...
from a gal, who was to ol' Doug, the BEST and oh-so-neat..
and THIS was tucked in to the box, as it was so perfect to go with:
as you can see now, feralfae, IS THE NUMBER ONE:
-DONE TO: THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS:
ENTITLED NOW-- THE FIRST-DAYS to Christmas,
HERE WE GO—on the first days of Christmas, my 'to do' friends gave to me...
a group-gift-box, of many things, as I shall NOW see...
For the FIRST day towards Christmas, came a gift that was so sweet...
from a gal, who was to ol' Doug, the BEST and oh-so-neat...
On the second day towards Christmas, came a bit of nutrition to snatch...
it was something soft and something crisp, that together, do match...
On the third day towards Christmas, came a gift to keep him busy...
yet, in a mindful way, YET—one might make him dizzy...
On the forth day towards Christmas, came something about a place he loves...
where the stars shine bright, from the moon, and all the aboves...
On the fifth day towards Christmas, came something to keep him warm
and cozy...
as about more gifts, he NOW gets NOSY!...
AND on the sixth day towards Christmas, speaking of nosy and warm and cozy, most likely he needs a gift for OUTSIDE...
one that will work on trips to town, YET, still function, for when at home, he does ABIDE...
On the seventh day of Christmas, as momento-leads to momento, came a darling little treat...
something from a mystery-solving gal, and her babe, that he happily did meet...
On eighth day of Christmas, came many intriguing bits of fun...
from someone that knows what inspires a mouse, when the day is done...
On the ninth day of Christmas, came a gift to inspire him to dream...
as the days of Christmas, run by like rivers, or a stream...
On the tenth day of Christmas, came a shocking surprise, like non-other...
something of warm memories, that rhymes with: another...
On the eleventh day of Christmas, anticipating the eve, and up late...
turns out, there came a gift that from head-to-toes,that just wouldn’t wait...
On the twelfth day of Christmas, the ol' mouse was by friendship, caught...
as he opened his last box, and on all of these gifts, took thought...
Yep--he was a mighty happy mouse, in deed...
from this Christmas, that to him, did speed....
Why, it included a ‘baker’s dozen’ gift, to JOIN with it all…
yep-- another giver, included--one that for him, years-ago, his heart did fall…
*Neebee tucked it in, to be from that gal, as a special thought, you’all…
HAPPY SWEET CHRISTMAS TO YOU MOUSE FROM MERCED!
WE WERE PICKED OFF, FROM YOUR “FLAMES” THREAD,
AND—were able to respond…
TOMORROW, YOU CAN see gift number two!
and so you won't 'just see what you missed'
and be left out, :(
i AM going to replace these, as,
we really enjoyed to know that this would be fun for you...
and really DO want you to have that fun!!!
feralfae and i love how you made lemonaid from the lemon-box, ;)
happy sweet christmas!!
ps:
you can go BACK to the riddle, too, that i posted somewhere, on flames or on chossmas?? and see how the riddle lined up to the gifts, as well,
THAT might be mouse-fun... AS WE know you like riddles, and word tricks, too...

hey there say, mouse...
now--on the second day towards christmas, your next
'to do' friend-- thocking.... sent to you...
well, HE PICKED THE CHEESE and crackers!
On the second day towards Christmas, came a bit of nutrition to snatch...
it was something soft and something crisp, that together, do match...
HERE IT IS... only on a thrift-store silver tray,
with a box of crackers and a little spreading knife...
ahh, now... read the poem, or the rhymes and wonder what
the next is/was... :)
the adventure is on!

hey there, say, tad and mo... yeah, me too, it was so odd...
one item, fletcher put an extra 'heart and soul' into...
as well... plus the postage, :(
and you all, you all did fantastic! you all jumped right in, tad!
and you each just had a SPECIAL instinct, on WHAT GIFT TO PICK...
it was interesting to see it fall into place...
hee hee, and we even got hold of illusive-at-work skully,
and email-hard-situation zbrown, though:
they had to kind of take the LAST of the list pick,
but it still turned out nice for what they DID get as their
picked-gift... :))
and lastly, of ALL THINGS!!! THE FRUITCAKE WAS LEFT, AND
FERALFAE 'fell in love' with that idea, it was
'tailor' made, just FOR HER TO DO...
mouse:
she had GREAT FUN doing that for you...
so this is your IMAGINATION YEAR!

mouse is in suspense ;)... however, if he had the box,
he would know, SO i really should let mouse know
who is up, for tomorrow... so...
here you go, TOMORROW, it is the gift picked, by GENE!
you can wonder, mouse, just what gift gene might have picked :)
:)
happy long christmas week, 'til the new year! :)

hey there say, mouse, are you enjoying the fruitcake... ?
hope it is not too sweet, etc...
did you have juice, milk, or coffee with it...
feralfae said if it got there late you could soften it
by pouring brandy on it...
say, you read up on the book that is in the box:
with the fruitcake:
as you eat the cheese and crackers...
it is very interesting and a great match for the season...
there now, WE PUT YOU TO WORK...

Thanks'n Merry Christmas, Ron. I love you, Taxman.
Thanks again, neebee. Merry Christmas and I love you, shaddokiddo.
If that is a centrifugein there, Gene, it's great, and I hope you got it used from a liquidator of processing equipment. Why pay for new when it's just like used? Don't be confused.
NO MORE SHINY NEW EQUIPMENT ON THE RACK means you're a climber, not a hack.
What does one do with a centrifuge if one is a small furry objectified mammal?
I've always been interested in the separation of church and state, but the political threads have that covered. And Separation of Realities is not called for on Christmas. Egg yolk and white are separable. Minnie's left Mickey, irreconcilable habits. She is converting to Catholicism to become a bride of Christ. Cheeses wins every time. Minnie is/are called, few are chosen.
You should SEE the centrifuge that Mickey got Minnie two years ago for her birthday. It was a bear to move it, but it's probably going with her, so we'll have to move it all over again.
Speaking of used, Jeff got a used 16" planer at a supply place in Modesto last week. He said he wouldn't pay $1,600 for new, but when they offered him a VSU (very slightly used) on another brand, he was tempted. They got it from a man whose father passed and left a garage full of shop stuff he'd bought and this was a good deal for $1,000. But Jeff thinks he's canny with his dough, and he didn't buy it right away, but let this eat at him for a few days at home, then ran down there and got it before someone beat him to it. He couldn't bear the thought of missing out on the deal and he needs one pretty badly. He's managed to wear one that size out completely and and another he said he ruined.
I wonder what he's done with the old one?
Well, if it's not a centrifuge, maybe it's a kaleidoscope. I got one for Christmas long ago.
With Jeff, this collect-a-bunch-of-tools-a-man-needs syndrome began with his climbing rack, of a certainty. Then he quit climbing and became a skier, so he had X #/prs. of XC skis and every temperature and snow condition covered by all sorts of different waxes by all makers, of whom it seems that just Swix has lasted. I haven't the slightest idea what other brands are on the market as I no longer ski. His wax bag was a huge manifestation of a man's need to be the eternal Boy Scout and Stay Prepared.
The Tim Allen Tool-Time Syndrome, if you will. Leather apron not included.
Rack. Wax bag. Four sheds full of tools and supplies. But you can't take it with you and yer...u know.
Yeah, Merry Christmas and I hope you'll get the Sears acct. pd. by next Yule.
Gene, I won't be disappointed. Even if it's a crappy plastic twirly propeller on a long stick, that I have to blow to spin or run with to get it to spin, I'll always remember the thought that it's the thought that counts; and, unless you count on your fingers still, then you better stay away from shop tools.
Having 36 years experience in maching using all types of machine tools(both as a student, teaching aid,and a BS in Manufacturing Engineering and 10 years as a saftey officer. I was recently working alone in my shop(on a large'20in swing metal lathe' ) and had a momentary laps of consentration that earned me 56 stiches too rebuild my left thumb. I was lucky that the E-STOP button was withen reach of my right hand. it happend so fast it took several seconds for me to comprehend what had just happened. The moral of the story is....NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE UNEXPED. AND NEVER WORK ALONE! sic

Oh, Jacob Marley! Heaven, and the Christmas Time be praised for this!
I say it on my knees, old Jacob, on my knees!'
Am I forgiven

There is a photo of my bud Vern here. He was on the front page of the print version of the Sun-Star Tuesday.
The place has all the hallways primed and ready to go. It looks like zinc oxide to me.
This should prove interesting.
I have roaches living in the old wood chest. I have had that sprayed with the chemical they are using to do the cracks and crevices. It has not helped.
I have roaches laying eggs inside my scanner, for golly sakes. The pests are constantly drowning themselves in cold coffee sitting on the computer table. They crawl past the monitor on the wall behind it and my fly swatter's handy.
They will never get rid of these as they are the real rulers of Middle Earth. But that idea about the trash being taken OUT instead of being left IN the building is the best of the management's ideas so far.
The lobby and the office were taken care of first, you notice. Just saying.
The elevator repairs are going to be a pain in the butt. I am not looking forward to the exercise of having to haul groceries up the stairs. It will make us all stronger. Phaa!
