There's more but I'm afraid my skillz with camera were even worse back then than they are now.
The route, I'm guessing, is one of those central ones. She-ra maybe.

OK, could be She-Ra if we did it in two pitches.
I recall thinking that was as quality as any route on Cathedral.
Nice FA!

Well judging from the other pix in the group it looks like you were belayed by Chris M. I must have been on rappel or something.
That pic is from a print, which is odd because I almost never did print film.

That was Five Ten’s first platform for the C4 rubber, but with black rands.
They edged really well, same shoe below:

However, the boxes they came in fit better than the shoes, as I recall.

hmm so the Eiger, ha?...
here you go:
my partner Renaud on the approach - the start of the 1938 route is just on the left of the pic. Our (or rather Piola's) route went up the middle of the Geneva pillar - middle of the pic.
view from the wall, sun still with us, nice view of Wetterhorn
on the route, weather getting worse...
the day afterwards - recovering in Bern from the failed attempt...

sunjule, nice Eiger sequence, great ending. An epic that all happens offstage.

That last page had some fine images by Cuckawalla and Sunjule. Worth one more round before this thread drifts away?
Fall colors by Dick Pollock, earlier this month:
Look closely, here he's taking the picture:

I like this thread...I'll continue to post, but my schedule isn't cooperating for fresh photos...
It does let me look back on older pictures, and find ones I never messed with or posted before...

A little nature-appreciative bump here--we can only hope this thread will never die, but that other thread must!
Bury it! Bury it, I say!

Hah! There's that little jolt of loneliness as you're moving up, but suddenly your gear pops out and goes zipping off down the rope.
