I got a 5.12% abv vanilla porter that I brewed on my birthday and bottled on Valentines Day working right now.
I wasn't real excited when I popped the top on the first one last week - it tasted just like A&W Root Beer, but with no head - but that's changed.
It's coming right along with carbonation and tastes like beer now.

Miller High Life.
Nine bucks a twelver at Von's and besides, it's a work night.
Went okay with my wife's pan fried mahi-mahi fish burger.

I’ve only seen it in cans. Anyone know why they don’t sell it in bottles? Does it have anything to do with the beer itself, or did they just decide to go with cans for this one? Had it on tap too. Yum, yum!

Old Rasputin, about as good a stout as there is and at 9% good value.
Dunno why it’s ‘old’ Rasputin as he died young, to the tsarina’s horror.

Reilly, you need to get out more. To places where they sell stouts.
Not that Old Rasputin is bad, but the world has not stood still in the last 20 years.

I came out long ago.
And I was speaking of what’s available within a 5 minute drive and under 15 bucks for 4.

Lloyd's beer tap looks like it belongs in the house instead out in the brewery.

A few home brews I have on tap as well...
A Helles Bock lager coming in at 7.8%!!! Smooth and it will mess you up!
An Oatmeal Stout at session strength so you can drink several pints and get no hangovers. 5% ABV
Lastly my annual seasonal Tangerine Honey Wheat, with fresh tangerines from my mother's tree. 5.8% ABV

After a couple of days of cold wind and rain, it's suddenly summer again. Well, okay, not quite summer, but damn warm and sunny for spring.
And a perfect beer to go with it.

Time to raise a glass to the memory of the great beer threads on Supertopo. I guess the threads, minus the photos we've posted over the years, will still be there, frozen in some kind of weird internet time warp, but no one will ever ever wander through that part of the museum, so they might as well be gone.
But, for the next three days, they'll still exist, and I can tell this one last beer story with the expectation that someone might read it.
Life took a sharp turn last year, and, after working for almost 20 years in the US (Seattle) we returned to Canada. Bought a place in a small isolated city on the BC coast, sold our Seattle house, packed a lot of stuff into trucks, and headed north.
Maybe you've had a similar experience -- a massive life change that doesn't seem real until some odd little something, some trivial thing that you normally wouldn't even notice, suddenly wakes you to the fact that the world has changed.
For me, it was the beer in this photo. First taste of the first glass of the first beer I brewed here.
Something in that glass brought me to earth in my new home.
Cheers to all of you!
