So Donald has decided to lie about his promise not to accept his salary.
Now, subject and always likely to change, he says he will take his salary and then give it away to a charity (his own foundation?) at the end the year
figure it out, he makes $400,000 as President and then get a $160,000 tax deduction by giving it to charity
thereby depriving the US Treasury of $560,000
always looking for an angle to benefit himself, he finds another one
tell us again why you voted for him

Locker, Charity in the bible talks about giving to the poor ...but.. the word also means Love...
It baffles me how some people.. who call themselves Christians.. represent Christ ..

Jody, thanks for the personal comment.
Why do you always feel the government is the only and best option for deciding how to help people?
You have to take note that there is a tendency on this forum to talk about BIG problems. Take Oroville, for example. I seriously doubt that ANY or ALL of the churches in the region could have organized and acted to save the dam, or repair it.
Then also, things change. Our Constitution clearly seems to state that the solution to National Defense, is to have militias with access to plenty of muskets. Surely you would not (nor would any strict constructionist) subscribe to that approach TODAY---or rely on private charity to protect our country?
So your overbroad question actually answers itself.

It's easy to forget that the need for charity frequently represents a failure of our society.
While "sticking the finger in the dike" of helping the immediate problem charitably is appropriate, fixing the failure that produced it, is also appropriate.

Beautiful job, Brandon, of pointing out that behind that local charity, is the big hand of Gov't.
Perhaps Jody advocates for removing all tax exemptions for religious organizations, and taking the big foot of gov't off the neck of American Taxpayers?

bingo.. Sorry Jody, but you are obstinate and not in a good way. I deleted my post to you last night, but want to repost that republicans want to spend everyone's money on the biggest military in history. So democrats are not the only ones who want to spend "your" money.
And please don't misrepresent my post to mean that I do not support any military. I just feel that spending more then the next 8 largest militaries in the world is too much. And yes, I do believe that if a country is to be Godly, then it needs to have programs that help the poor and help keep people out of the poor house. That does not mean that I wish our country would pay for everything.
You complain constantly that people misrepresent your beliefs. I see that some do. I would ask you to not misrepresent mine. I have voted liberal on many things, so in that sense I am a liberal, and I have donated a lot of my time and money for charitable things. So I find it repugnant when you make mischaracterizations about me. A liberal who gives.
