Handles:
Lewis at Seymour Manufacturing confirmed that he will be sending out 200 handles today via 2-day shipping for delivery Friday (they are paying the cost difference between 2- and 3-day delivery for this shipment). The remaining 100 handles will be shipped out tomorrow via 3-day. They prevailed through sickness and torrential rains in Tennesee to make sure we have handles to assemble into hammers this weekend. Thanks Lewis!

Cost breakdown (12-1-10):

300 handles @ $2.89 each: $867
Shipping on initial 200: $204.97
Shipping on remaining 100: TBD tomorrow

Leashes:
Russ is the man! Shipped today. That's a lot of slingage!

Tangs:
Finished them up last night. 300 +/- of each front and backs.

I noticed that the hammer leash is a little different from the old A5. Instead of using only webbing it looks like you use webbing for the shoulder sling and perlon for the attachment to the handle.

Any particular reason?

My A5 hammer had/has the same setup, webbing sling with perlon for attachment to the hammer.

Oh. Did not realize. The A5's I have used (from friends) had all sling set-ups. Maybe homemade or something...

I believe John mentioned them doing lots of variations on the slingage over the production life of the A5 hammers. We decided this A5 sling variant would be the most straightforward for us to accomplish, but I suspect Theron will be posting up how to mod what we deliver into the other style for those who want to switch the way theirs is slung.

John can post up on this, but I think there might have been a time where he just sold the hammer and you did what ever sling you chose to do. He sent it out the door with a drilled hole in the handle. Not positive though.

Simon may not be quite ready for a son in law yet.

Maybe Russ can make an all-webbing product for the hammers, which those who want them can order?

Crack house is just a type of Chalk bag, Fatty. The incriminating stuff is in a box on the opposite wall.

I don't think the webbing vs. nylon thing is a big deal and it looks like Russ already has the slings done so lets not talk about taking orders for types of slings...things are complicated enough already. Last time someone made a random suggestions about serial numbers and bam...look what happened. =)

I was just curious why it was perlon since I hadn't really seen that before. I thought it was an "improvement" that was done for the D5 line and was curious why...

cheers

It's the sling show! I like the perlon loop. Smooth & resilient.
Very nice.

Skully.... a dirty mind is a terrible thing to waist. ;)

Got slingage from Russ today. The man delivered as requested. I opened up the box and thought: "Where are all the bald rastafarians? I've got a box full of dreads."

Where is the webbing? Peek a boo:

I just had to dig one out and check it out:

The slings look good!

UPS says that the handles are due here tomorrow.
