You'd be amazed at the house I had (housesitting) on the bluff above 1000 Steps.

Hahaha, that's a good one zbrown. ANd his harmonica playing is good on that one. Sometimes Bob was pretty bad on the harmonica (check out the last song I posted I think).
Laguna Beach was a great place to hang out in the early 70's. Harvest Festival and some bars would let you go in for a beer (underage). Even went into the Little Shrimp twice, lol!!! Too creepy for me tho in the end....
So along the Coast Hwy, near where that road came down from the Palisades and intersected the Coast Hwy, there was a (bad) mexican Resturant called Dave's if I remember right. My surf buddy Tony worked as a dishwasher there. Jacky was the dishwasher at El Patio then and that was the place to score food out the back door. "Returns" if you will. Around maybe 1976-1977 they closed Dave's down and started building Olamendis down the street a ways towards Capo Beach proper. I remember the timing being about the same. You see, the family had a small place in San Clemente before that. The son had gone to San Clemente High with my sister and always had a soft spot for her. Anyways, the mom and Dad decided to mostly retire and let their son have a go with the new place. That is the way I remember it at least. The old place run by the family was friggen magical atmospherically, and the food was great, and served us beer (because we behaved).

A final (for this year) Merry Christmas. Still in my Dylan mood........I find it amazing how certain writers transcend time, and Dylan is one of them. Still love his stuff after all these years.

Sometimes 4:00 am doesn't allow for my best effort. This version is only slightly better, such as it is. Thank you Mouse, for the idea.
Whack a Meme
If it's all the same to you
Plain English will do
And I know what you meme
I just don't want to see
Anyone get memed
So pease don't be meme
No matter what love brings
I ain't going to dispel
Any of these things
And I can't grow wings
Because all these memes
Meme a lot of things
With butter and rum
Or peaches and cream
And what momma brings
With her sad sad music
Like the siren sings
Is her meme to a fault
Among other things
Like memo or memoir
Rhymes like it themes
With Renault or Renoir
I'm not gonna meme memes
So suffix it to suffice
If you know what I meme
Let not meme be refused
Or the meme thing confused
Mis-memed or other things
As an ends to a meme

"Crows too can" etc. got me to thinking about a Saturday Evening Post article that I read in the waiting room at the VA Clinic, waiting to be called for a blood dtaw.
It was about the differences in Mule Behavior vs. Human Behavior.
http://www.saturdayeveningpost.com/2015/10/26/in-the-magazine/trends-and-opinions/can-learn-lot-mule.html
But this link only contains the first two paragraphs. The discussion in the magazine is about mules' eyesight. How they perceive things is all relative to survival. They stop to assess things that bother them and we are unable to budge them until they've reached a decision about what's grounding them.
Mules' eyes are on either side of their head, so their view of what's in front of them is peripheral. Now, I can describe neither a toucan's vision nor a crow's nor how either views what's "out there." But the toucan's big-ass nose comes into play in the field of vision, likely, and crows are so smart and aware that they probably have eyes in the back of their heads.
It's all food for thought right now.
And I don't believe toucans eat much millet. Crows, certainly. That bit is for neebee's benefit.
"Happy Holidays" and "Gung hey there, say, Bok Choy!"
