reotch you're staring
too hard at reality.
relax your gaze, mate.
let the edges blur.
good. now sit up straight.
you're slouching.
no foul.
just gravity havin' at
your spine.
all of a sudden,
we took care of today
and now tomorrow
needs attention.

now cragman.
i can't understand you.
one day you're standing atop mt. holy
shouting glory to god,
and the next one you're
draggin your soul across
spiritually barren landscapes,
next to mine.
so what is inside zero?
oh and then you float up oz.
and the next day you're shooting up
bears in your underwears.
that's one of the things
i love about our lot,
you cannot pin anyone
to cork,
unless it's the belly of
a wine plug.
and that's where my
tether always returns me.

Ah Anita, I see that you say you have a new used sack , did you buy it off the project?
O man I bought a new Black diamond Stone45, retiring a thirty year old Son of Crag also a black Diamond.i got in '93. It is still bomber but the kid I climbed with from the project, looked at it and said he thought he has seen his grandma in a photo with a pack like that.
Time for a new pack. But I fooked up by not going Atom smasher or haul bag of some kind.
The sown glitz, name brand has weak follow through; seams at rub points at the butt/ bottom of the pack. It has a straight across seam right at the point of rubbing!
The zipper is not covered by a storm flap that's weakest sauce, everything is gonna get soaked, then freeze and I will be pissed.
Not fully lined? WTF I too will have to add Ensilite padding around the inside of the pack I think I can do that? Or may be get back to using stuff sacks for everything I will have to if I use this thing for alpine or if it rains.
Buyers remorse but I only paid 80 bucks so it is what it is.
Hey Burch what's that red pack ? An arc'teryx alpha fl 45?

Gnome: I owe you an email. Sorry about that.
We added a foam insert/liner to my pig, using that cheapy blue closed-cell foam you can get at any outdoor store. The duct tape has since peeled off so I have to get some adhesive stuff to glue it all together tomorrow. Yay?

Anita looks a LOT cuter in a well patched cave suit...
What a babe. El Cap soon come. We'll see you on the bridge a week Sunday!
P.S. Check out Anita's sandal tanlines on her feet. Ooh la la! Her feet are almost even the same size too!

Drinking red wine from a Gatorade bottle and eating Port Salut cheese on a ledge halfway through the traverse to the Nose (yikes!). We've been hauling the Junk Show and working pretty hard (by Pete's standard) the last few days here on Triple Direct.
And NO, we did not bail from Grey Ledges. Jeeeeez.
Happy Friday night all!

It's almost Friday night. I'm just a day late. Does it count? I sit by the Indian Ocean 50 meters away, and I'm pretty unsober at the moment.
You know, you guys would LOVE the Seychelles. There's so much granite here, walls and boulders and slabs and cracks. Everywhere. And the beaches are world class. I saw a Redbilled Tropicbird today. That was cool. But there's no drought, maybe you wouldn't feel at home.
I'm not drunk. I can spell. That's the measure. If I think slow, it doesn't show. I just type slower. Maybe the real measure is WHAT I think. I've been thinking about you a lot, seeing all that rock.

Nice. I love you too. Geez last Friday night we were in the Valley of Awe. Slumming it tonight in Moab ;).
I haven't started anything yet. Too early. Beer sounds good. Ferretlegger to arrive tonight or tomorrow. My daze of peace and quiet gone. Now there will be no rest for the wicked (me????). I better get to the state store, pronto.
Susan
Edit: wait, today isn't Friday. I really better get down to that store, now.

It was Steak Night tonight. Along with the steak, roasted potatoes, Porcini mushrooms and brussel sprouts, there was a nice Taurasi and an equally fine Barbera. The Taurasi was a 2004 and still could sit a few more years and the Barbera was newer at 2012 but drank bright and powerful and could take some more time but didn't need it. The Porcinis sent the steaks right over the top. I have been eating on a budget recently so this was really nice.
