....
on a serious note.
Has anyone met an intelligent self proclaimed libertarian who has a cogent argument that isn't based on poor logic and inflammatory nonsense? I have met sane conservatives and liberals who are articulate and can explain and defend their positions well, but I have yet to even read one libertarian whose opinions and arguments aren't flawed in multiple ways. I believe both parties have serious issues, but I have heard well stated arguments which defend why we need both parties, but I haven't heard anything reasonable from the libertarians, other then.. liberals are bad.

Or try this; name one city in America with Democrats in control that is financially sound.
You mean like El Paso, TX the poorest city in America?

The Trump administration is suppressing an Environmental Protection Agency report that warns that most Americans inhale enough formaldehyde vapor in the course of daily life to put them at risk of developing leukemia and other ailments, a current and a former agency official told POLITICO.

^^^ I was just about to share what zBrown did... well, here's a link to more:
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/06/epa-formaldehyde-warnings-blocked-696628
edit: playing devil's advocate for a minute... one might say that the EPA should be protecting the environment, and NIH should be protecting our health. Thus, EPA might be construed as doing duplicative work by publishing info about health consequences from formaldehyde. See this from CDC for example:
https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/drywall/docs/whatyoushouldknowaboutformaldehyde.pdf
Taking off the devil's advocate hat... it seems these agencies have important complementary roles. NIH should be determining what levels pose a threat, and EPA should be identifying the environments where this threshold is crossed, and also determining what adverse impacts that formaldehyde has on ecosystems and creatures therein.

Does it make me a traitor that a part of me wants to see China win this trade war?
I don't have any desire to see China win this trade war. But I want not only for Trump supporters to lose this trade war, I want them to know that they lost it. But with the echo-chamber that so many live in, that may not happen. Sort of like the anti-elite policy of helping down and out blue collar workers by giving the 0.1% a trillion dollar tax cut.

believe every unsourced article about Trump
There is plenty of objective evidence, including documents, videotape and multiple witnesses, to demonstrate that the vast majority of Trump's bad press is accurate and factual.
On the other hand, Trump continues to make up lies on a daily basis. His statements are typically at odds with reality, facts and evidence, and only serve to present an alternative, fictitious reality that casts Trump in a more favorable light.
At his campaign rallies, Trump makes stuff up, on the spot, to jerk his audiences off. It is so easy to fact-check Trump's lies, you would think that his supporters would catch on. But, they don't want to catch on. They don't care if Trump tells them absurd lies. They are mesmerized by Trump's cult of personality.
Trump supporters are like people who want to get rid of a cat, because they don't like it. They want some other kind of pet, and they don't care what it is, as long as it's not another cat. A con man pet dealer tells them he's got just the right thing for them.
So, they wind up with a wolverine in the house that chews out the walls, destroys their furniture, bites them and kills their livestock. But, they continue to tell their neighbors that they love "Wolvy", because he's not a cat.
They hope that "Wolvy" will someday act more like a pet, and stop destroying their home and injuring them. Until then, they vociferously defend "Wolvy" and say that he's the best pet in the entire world.
When presented with evidence of "Wolvy's" misbehavior, they say that the scars all over their own bodies are "fake news", and that they don't really exist. They say that the cat, before he was evicted, was the one who chewed out the walls and destroyed the furniture. They claim that the cat sneaks back, at night, and kills their livestock.
No matter what "Wolvy" does, they love and defend him because he is not a cat. For them, "Wolvy" can do no wrong.

GOP Senators who support Trump went to Moscow (on July 4) to soften up the Russians in advance of Trump's meeting with Putin in Helsinki. The Senators made it clear that they were not there to chastise the Russians for interfering in the 2016 election (they liked the outcome, and were happy to have the help, Federal election laws be damned).
The Senators indicated that the U.S. forgives, and has forgotten, about the election meddling. And, now Trump is ready to appease the Kremlin, and allow the Crimean invasion to stand, unopposed.

The GOP is surrendering to Putin because they're scared of Trump.

RJ! A good point!
And it's worth repeating:
wasn't that long ago that the dems were being called commie pinkos and looks who's supporting the commies now ...the simpleton trump-putin supporters...the jokes on you ... morons...
A delegation of Republican Senators visited Russia for the 4th of July, to make nice with the commies, before Trumps has his next meeting with Putin.
The Russian media had a great time making fun of them.
(I have a vision of Trump crawling toward Putin, licking his fat lips, while Putin unzips.)
The Trumpians, & of course the Republicans, now love the commies!
