Hey, you guys need a lift? I'm saddling up the gypsy for Southern Yosemite but could detour if you guys can help with the petrol. I've got a parks pass, and an open dance card.

Geez. Where is everyone?
Some sort of mid range white wine.
I'm not in the mood for inflammatory comments. I spent last night in Winnenucca. I couldn't find a quarter slot machine. My dreams of wealth vanished.

Susan! Winnemucca! I have long ago good memories of a pretty good Basque restaurant in Winnemucca--------and no other good memories. There are some stories, but not positive ones.
It's been a good sunset week in Choss Creek, and the weather stays wet. Hopefully, by late June, the rains will end & we will enjoy a normal mostly dry summer.
Meanwhile, the good Snake River sunsets continue & I am off to the mountains tomorrow, thunderstorms or not.
OH! also------drinking Red wine & wishing confusion to my enemies.

Hey Mouse,
At least one of us has a smile .... and biceps!
That's our route on our crag behind us. We climbed it ... sort of ... some of it ....
We missed last Friday on account of no cell phone reception. I dropped off Anita at the airport yesterday evening, and as of now I await the arrival of Susan Walker and Ferretlegger Mike, who are working on a friend's sailboat getting her ready for a solo sail to Hawaii.
So here I sit in their sailboat in Alameda, awaiting their return so I can crack open a bottle of cool Chardonnay....
Back to the Ditch Sunday night - after the rain - for another wall!

Locker,
I am truly blessed to share my life with this beautiful, competent and motivated lady.
Anita hopped up on El Cap with nothing more than three afternoons of training on a little crag in Ontario, and she sent. Using the cavers' Frog system along with an ankle cam, I'll bet you she can out-jug most of the men using the standard two handle Yosemite system, especially on steep or free-hanging ground.
Anita proved that she can keep on keepin' on, face down her fears, learn new and complex wall climbing systems, manage the massive Junk Show, haul like a mofo, and never give up. Returning to a soaking wet portaledge after climbing an entire day in the rain - our third rain day in a row - produced a few nearly hidden tears, but never did she complain or whine*. We just fired up the stove, and worked on drying stuff out.
I feel a post in the Anita514 Appreciation Thread coming up.
Although we did not reach the summit of El Cap, we did at least complete our route - Squeeze Play - which was over 80% of the work. Success comes in many forms, and Anita was a huge success. I am so very proud of her!!
*OK, Anita did bitch and swear at me this one time, fortunately from a hundred and fifty feet below me.....
Anyway, it's Friday night in the Eastern Time Zone, so I made Susan find her screw of corkness, and we busted open the first bottle of Chard! I'm not so good at the selfies....

Mike is kinda ornery, and buried inside a neighbour's sailboat, helping her to get ready for a solo sail to Hawaii.
And Susan poured a glass and disappeared, leaving the whole bottle unattended....

Hi Moose. Mike and I are wiring a friend's sailboat. I'll pass along your regards.
But Pete made me drink a glass of wine at 3:30
Now I don't know the ground from the live wire
This could be serious. Glad it's not our boat.
See you in a couple weeks.
Susan
Edit: Mike is kinda ornery . Huh? New to me. ;). Have at it Pete. There's plenty more...thank you. And, I showed you the secret wine rack. Some great wines from Italy in there!

You guys should put Pete to work. As you can see, he needs to build up some biceps to keep up with me.
