Rock!…oopsie. Every time I see this Klimmer thread on the front page I quietly admit to myself he was right about 2 things:
1) It's very OT - definitely on solid ground with that call
2) It's of high interest - this is the one that gives me pause. I really wish Klimmer wasn't right about this being "of high interest". It doesn't speak well of us as a group.

OT fer sure… But as for the "high interest" bit…I don't think the contributors to this thread are believers, or devotees of crackpottery. Rather, many are fascinated by the sheer lunacy of the ideas espoused by one particular individual.

Klimmer: I suspect you can't handle it. It rattles your reality.

Right.

WBraun: Yes ... he's teaching YOU right now.

You are his student ……

Rabbi Klimmer hasn't done much to school us in wackjob theories, other than to demonstrate how unreal are his ideas.

He's told us, himself, elsewhere on SuperTopo that his real name is Glenn Simpson: http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=300496&tn=49

If that is the same Glenn, the kids don't seem all that hot on him as a teacher.

Perhaps this comment is proof that it's the Ark guy?

He spends to much time spamming message boards instead of teaching.

Why all the Klimmer HATE though? You can taste the venom in a lot of the comments.

Let the man believe whatever he wants to.

There's more out there that we don't understand than we do. It doesn't hurt to listen to every theory, no matter how absurd you may think they are.

I have plenty of friends who are religious. I don't attack their absurd (in my view) belief systems based on books of fables and mythology that spans thousands of years. I find them all interesting even if I don't agree.

Yes, fear, and how tasteless is it to post that worthless yelpish trash?
That's tantamount to libel and even if it was even remotely accurate it is
totally a third grader's antic.

I'm with Dingus, rmuir, you should probably remove it. Yeah, the Moon Ark doesn't exist, but klimmer's post does and it's enjoyable, in an odd way; Ghost bringing Tintin into it was pretty hilarious, and the trajectory lately.......what can I say?
looks easy from here

Let the man believe whatever he wants to.

In general that's my opinion. But as soon as someone tells me that I and everyone I love are going to Hell I tend to get a little...irky with them.

The CIA wants you to know:

Take a Peek Into Our “X-Files”

The CIA declassified hundreds of documents in 1978 detailing the Agency’s investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). The documents date primarily from the late 1940s and 1950s.

To help navigate the vast amount of data contained in our FOIA UFO collection, we’ve decided to highlight a few documents both skeptics and believers will find interesting. Below you will find five documents we think X-Files character Agent Fox Mulder would love to use to try and persuade others of the existence of extraterrestrial activity. We also pulled five documents we think his skeptical partner, Agent Dana Scully, could use to prove there is a scientific explanation for UFO sightings.

The truth is out there; click on the links to find it.

A poll reveals that almost half of all Americans think the government is hiding evidence of UFOs from the public.

The other half thinks that the evidence of UFOs existed, but it was "misplaced" by Hillary Clinton

Someone should let both Klimmer and Ghost know that in fact, Le Petit Prince was there first, long before gOd and gOd's minions. St. Exupery - whom a peak in Patagonia is named for - would be pleased.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Little_Prince_(2015_film);

Overwhelming Glenn with whimsy should be fun, although like all monomaniacs, he seems unlikely to be receptive.

The Little Prince was written on Eaton's Neck in Huntington NY where I lived as a kid. My Brother's Inlaws had a place next door.

But the Prince was by no means the first to get there. Jules Verne did it a century and a half ago, and the French did on film it in 1902.

Then there were the voyages to Barzoom....
