Ward Lake? It's been a while since I was up that way, but I used to be an Alps regular.

Hey Tom. Echo Lake.

Nice Nick!

I did that one a couple of months ago. It was taller and a little scarier than I expected.

Back in the day (70's), we'd all tunnel in there to the point where it was wide enough that you could just park in the chimney no-hands, and smoke a joint. The wall your back was against was like a Barca Lounger, it leaned back and you just locked your outstretched legs against the opposite wall.

Sometime in the mid to late 90s we were in search of new boulders and followed our noses into the forest.
Stumbling on to a house sized bloc with this problem facing us.
We were not the first to visit....
there was a condom wrapper at the base.

The problem became
Lifestyles V4

The other sides of the Boulder were loaded as well, especially after we neatened the base up with a come along.

The Lifestyles Boulder yielded close to 20 problems of all grades.
Pretty proud of my squad for this one. It's the singular best boulder around.
I was stoked to revisit last weekend after many years away... and get spanked!
It's a classic!!!

+1 for Big Grunt! All-time mega.

Hey Stahlbro, there's another taste of FA glory GONE because you old schoolers were too lazy to keep track of boulder problems lol :) That one is now known as Kentucky Fried Christ... pretty sure Todd didn't name it that. Sweet boulder whatever you call it.

With so many sandbags down at Woodson, it's nice there are a few classic gimmes. Out of towners can warm up on Hear My Train a-comin "5.11c" to start their day off right and build confidence.
