my guess is wes and fatty will be allowed back.
both will be on a short rope.
wes I think gets where his issues lie. Not sure about Jeff. kinda doubt it.
skipt is probably gone for good. That post regarding JStan has no defensible excuse.

one thing that is sadly telling is that in 524 posts not a single person has tried to argue fatty should be allowed back.

Me too Jim. I think showing up regularly and bopping a post here and there would be a good thing. Showing up and bopping posters without any warning or recourse is not a good process.
ps, I'd be for letting them all back. Fatty, Norton, Fortmental, thedood, thetool, Skipt....everyone.

I say that fattrad was booted without facts or ethical reasons to explain why. The same applies to skipt, FM and weschrist.
Let them all come back. Even though I find 3 of the 4 thoroughly annoying.
We're supposed to be grownups. Or as was once famously said by a controversial President: "If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen"
EDIT: I vaguely recall a very recent thoroughly vile comment from skipt to jstan. It was such garbage, I declined to read much of it. It was hateful. Pissed me off so much I just closed the page and came back a day or two later. So no, I don't recall it clearly.
I've also met and worked at Facelift with jstan. I think he can handle it.

and i don't know that he can.
HT- I'm cool with him coming back. But he needs a timeout to think about how his bullshit affected the forum.
and HT - I might agree on the others but skipt is gone for good. there is no way to explain away his post pointed at JStan. Every other posts he's ever made suggests that's his personality.

Except that this is a business. If Chris Mac loses advertisers, or others chose not to advertise here because of the behaviors of some, then they must go. Some of the people who got booted should be able to understand that capitalistic aspect of it.
(Not saying I know that is what is behind this at all. But it is the case for any web business nonetheless).

IF there's any thread CMac monitors, I expect it is this one right now.
Does anyone think the advertisers read our drivel? Not on your life. They don't have the time. The only thing they count is the amount of traffic and if we click on their ads.
Faux News, among others, thrives on drivel, slander and fractious, inane dispute.
After all, this IS a business.

He's been obsessed with JStan since the Creationists thread 2 years ago. I suspect it's some kind of traditional Catholic thing against a secular smart guy issue. Whatever it is, he should not be allowed back.

No doubt they aren't following every thread and every post. I would bet that, when a company considers advertising on ST, they do at least a good scan of the site & the forum, and probably monitor/scan it occasionally once those ads are posted. It's not hard to imagine an advertiser seeing some of the schlock that gets posted here and having it form a negative impression of ST, and whether it's the kind of place they want to associate their product/service/business with.
