Many years ago I was climbing in Eldorado with Anne, the woman who was later to become my wife, and she stunned ME by sitting on the belay ledge belaying me up the 1st pitch of "Birdwalk" topless! She did it simply as a joke, but I damned near fell off as I pulled up onto the ledge. We then had a good laugh, she put on her tank top, and we finished the climb.
On the other hand, when Medusa went berserk here on this site, philo wasn't the only old school knight ready to get on his horse and go off jousting the "evil ogre." There are lots of us "old school" climbers who believe that a lady's virtue and good name should not be impugned by a low life a$$wipe. But that's just me talking...

Well, I've read just about all the posts from when the breaking news first hit the taco. I really feel for Crimpie cause it was like a sock in the gut when I came to work one day a couple years ago, turned on the taco and people were saying some things about lynnie that hurt. They thought it was funny I guess. I thought it sucked.
But this whole thing has really made me think. I remembered a situation several years ago when I was playing in a competitive women's doubles tennis match. My partner was at the net. The gal across from us walked over to my friend and said something.
I thought my friend was gonna jump over the net and then jump the gal. Only her innate sense of class kept her from doing it. I ran up to my friend and asked what up ? She told me the woman called her a 'Ho. "What, I asked ?" Le looked at me and said a whore. (This was before supertaco and I was not up to speed on derogatory verbage and why it is vitally necessary for the survival of the planet :D)
Le and I walked back to the baseline and I said, "Well, you're not! So let's prove it by kicking their butts." Which we did. I had no idea what would prompt someone out of the blue to call my very quiet, sweet partner (and Excellent athlete) what they did. I wondered what was up in the gal's life that would prompt her to act like a total idiot to another human being.
Point......none of us, no not one, know what up in Medussa's life. I don't excuse him for a moment! It was reprehensible what he did and no matter what he thinks or feels, Medussa, an apology is in order, Sir.
But I think enough is enough. Let's walk away from the computer....at least this thread and go out and do one random act of kindness. Life is short. All we have Really is today. Wasting it ranting is.....well imho, a waste. Jess sayin',
