Iron Butte looks great, but its not in the guidebook. I'd need a volunteer to show me around, I'm not sure I have the guts to pick routes without any beta.

No worries! I'm hoping to be getting out to Reno more in the future, so I'll get to Iron Butte eventually. But any advice on the other locations, River, Pig, or Dinosaur Rock? Tips for climbing in the cold?

Alright, you've convinced me, I'll man-up, leave the guide book behind, and try Iron Butte. The info and photos you've posted helps. Any chance you've got photos of Binky's Revenge? Eagles Nest Dihedral? Beholder's Eye? Or anything really to help orient me to the rock. Your name is on most of the first ascents, strong work.

Sounds good Ron, thanks for all your help. I've read all the content on the Mountain Project and went through the photos you posted here, it all looks pretty sweet. I can't wait to get out there!

You should reprint your guidebook! All I could find was a used copy for $50 on Amazon.

search "Obscurities" here on the taco and you will pull up rons old guide. If you cant find it get a hold of me and Ill copy it for you.

Radical will be great to see ya my Brutha from another Mutha....Will be buying the Turkey today, I'll get a few extra pounds for you.
My house will be pretty Full, In laws, Step Sister and her Husband and Outlaws , but I can make some space for you in the back room away from the Mayhem.
I think I can get out to Sugar Loaf on Saturday, it should warm up a little by then. It's supposed to be 6 degrees tomorrow night.
I'll call you later, I gotta work.
Loaf to all the Reno climbers on Saturday, Leave Lithuanian's parking lot (Smith's grocery store) around 7:45 on Sat morning. We'll hook up with MikeyI and watch him work the roof. Oh yeah you have to climb Dominion to get there, easy .10....

Silver, I'll take your ski lessons for sure, I'm more boarder but would love to get back on skis.
Also let me know when you guys go hunting and I'll tag along. I don't have license yet but will be happy to do some hiking. My coworker is big into Chukers now and he is training his 1 year old Brittany dog. I always planed to go with him but never did, yet.

Silver where the hell is Thule Peak? and how tall is it? Maybe there will be snow on the approach to the loaf but it'll be fine chasing the Sun around the crag.
The ol' Cattlemen's is closed, How about a Keggar at the road to no where in the middle of Washoe valley, I'll bring some tracer ammo for the AK, screw the chukker lets spell our names into the night sky......with tracer rounds.
