Like a FEW others have already written...
I personally will be VERY HAPPY with whichever hammers I get...
The NUMBERS make ZERO difference...
Amen.
And, while we're at it, for the number-obsessed, maybe those posts can move over to Ed Hartouni's "I want one" thread instead of junking up Theron's awesome photo-TR on the production of these kickass hammers.
"Just sayin'"

This number craze is juvenile.
I want this!
I want that...
Why not just buy a Yo hammer and engrave your number? Probably Knott going to use it anyway. Better keep it on the mantle.
Let the man do his work!
Theron- Just go without #'s, Screw all these pansy playground requests.

Well, they are numbered. 1-277
Remember that 1 -10 could be used for something special
There is more than one thread that I have pulled numbers from. Pie, you number was taken on a different thread.

Hey Tucker-
I originally asked if they were to be numbered.
Then all the crazies started "Requesting" their own #'s.
For that I am sorry.
There was no mention of numbering until I asked the Question on this thread.
I assumed it was going to be like the original A5 run, RANDOM.
But thanks for pointing that out again!
Wait, what # are you?

I suggest a bid-off for disputed #'s. Might raise a lot of $. People, including me, are wierd about #'s. Make us put our $ where our mouth is.

Did some more work on the tangs tonight. The holes are done. All that is left for the tangs is to deburr.
Lots of tangs (300+/-):
High tech drilling fixture:
Talked to Lewis today. They are working on the handles. Probably done tomorrow. I'll have them shipped 3-day UPS to ensure that they arrive for the build party.
Emailed Russ about the slings. He assures me that I will get the slings in time. He doesn't miss drop dead dates.
Sling sample:
Got schooled on nails last night. Duece speced out a 16d common nail. I don't do contruction/framing. A 16d is a 16d right? NO! There were no less than 4 types of 16d at the hardware. I bought the one that looked like it would work. 16d bright box is much smaller than 16d common. Got my google fu on and figured it out. Back to the hardware for 300 of the correct nails.
First stab at making a nail into a rivet (16 box):
Second attempt, note split in the handle (16d common):
Third time's the charm:
(I was using one of the cracked heads to test stuff on)

It is very cool to watch the progress of this project even though I am not getting a hammer. It's amazing how much goes into something as simple as a hammer and how much learning is involved in manufacturing. Thanks for documenting the process.
