Le Mousie Si, La Migra No. No?
I was wondering just what Carlos Santana's actual address was there in TJ.
Once I find his address, I'm gonna see if the Streisand beach key fits. It's universal doncha know.

A Flame's friend, believe it or not! I love this old guy.
How many lives and pieces of fence posts has it saved in its lifetime? I'd like to see Khanom's and Vicky's Hopping Rabbit Farm graced by this feller. Hunter's Valley Hopping Rabbit Organic Fire Suppression Volunteer Unit 236...
Then you'll be just like the Joneses of Catheys Valley.Eggs, veggies, fire truck, etc.
You could decorate it with a string of prayer flags."Historic" Hunters Valley fire truck, decaying on Henness Ridge. Poor old f*#ker, him and Darryl Tucker: Mariposa's best, both laid to rest.
Darryl used to run one of the machines in the barrel plant with me for a number of years. I heard he died. He lived down on West Whitlock in a place he built himself.
Two specials for the haiku mistress, eKatSnowmahomiss.
Both are on Henness Ridge, fall foliage fallin' on 'em.
Pending falling snow
Here we grow rust, dust, cobwebs.
Shoulda been a plow.

Who loves the romance of steam?
The essence of soot?
Unscheduled stops for rocks on the tracks?
A view of the Merced River unequalled by slow-ass, bumpy, dusty stage lines?
You are forgiven.
Mice didn't do this. We are innocent.
Gene
Are you still up for Bagby to Briceberg or vice-vesra? Let me know.
This train needs more train pictures, preferably of steam trains.

I learned about Oak Leaf Hoppers in school today, Daddy.
That's interesting.
They are just small little things.
That's nice.
It's a little-known fact that Dennis Hopper is, in fact, allergic to the Oak Leaf Hopper. Did you know that? It's a fact.
No, Cliffie, I did not know that. Be nice and get me another Keystone Light, would you?
Otay.

No relation, he's Afrikaner.
Did not know that, eh?
They talk strange English like Canadians and 'strines.
Our content is not driven by draconian dogma, it is concocted by our team of highly irrelevant drivel drafters.
There are only two, and one isn't there. So you get what you pay for, but no split infinitives.
But that's probably beside the point.
That point would be the intersection of education and entertainment.
A little drivel is only to be expected when the class is sleeping.
And it's not like we have potential customers out there online,
waiting to dump money on us based on content which satisfies their needs.
These are Supertopians. They are quite used to drivel.
Wear galoshes if it bothers you and Roy Orisons if it dazzles you.
Harden the fvck up, even.

This may have the effect of drivel, which is to stultify and bore the peruser.
There's the re-hash box, and then there are piles of bags full of garbage.
And stacks of old mags from the dentists and physicians and their staffs--worked
crossword mags, Mouse Beautiful, V-Twin (how'd that get in there?--that's not drivel! Dibs!), Mad, Style 1900, all the standards.
There is no set way to categorize drivel, you just put it away in whatever container's
handy--lately we have cardboard boxes but used to have grocery bags. We are coming up in
stages in the world.

I just realized as I got out of bed this morning. Cliffhanger was onscreen twenty years ago!
It's like Gen X's version of The Eiger Sanction.
I went to see this onscreen with Liz. She even got it. She wanted to see
it because John Lithgow was starring. She issued the following statement ( or similar--it's
been twenty years, after all): "God, I love garbage
like that. How much
was fake and how much is just BS?"
"More than you want to know."
We don't intentionally (smirk!) issue BS here. You can get that lots of other places on the Taco.
If this thread were larger and had more help, we could keep up with DR F, but it's grown
up around us, as it were. We're trapped in a Rumplestilskin Tower or a Sleeping Beauty
Castle or in a cage with tigers.

Longevity is an end in itself, bred by the evolutionary process and subsidized
by pharmaceutical giants, and pimped by groups like AARP and Hollywood.
Passion changed for glory? I think not.

Many label drivel as "Mickey Mouse."
This slur against Disney animation is un-called for. It's otay to say the later animation
sucks--and there are warehouses crammed with this crap--but to label the progenitor of
cartoons drivel is unwarranted, shows poor discernment, and reflects the critic's
STUPIDNESS, not to mention lack of judgement.
You'd have to be Goofy to believe that Big Lie.

Sunrise today was at 7:12 a.m. That last picture should not have appeared here today
as today's sunrise. I wasn't lying--it was a "fast one." A "manip." A twist in time.
So I jammed out and went to take the elevator to floor five for this morning's sun-fest.
I ran into Vern, my friend who with his wife Dawn just moved into the penthouse on floor six.
"C'mon up and have some coffee and go take some pictures out on the roof."
"Well, I have had coffee, but thanks."
It's BOTH what and who you know that makes life better.
Don't just enjoy life, make it more enjoyable for others, too.
Thank you, Vern!!

BBA, can you remember hanging around the bus station in El Portal? Or did they have bus service back in the daze of the fifties?

I mean, zBrown, are you awake yet?
Are you online?
Jerk...
Got ta do the heavy lifting, AGAIN!
When a train stopped for water and positioned by a water tower,
the boilerman swung out the spigot arm over the water tender and
"jerked" the chain to begin watering. This gave rise to a 19th-century
slang term "Jerkwater town" for towns too insignificant to have
a regular train station. The variants were "Jerktown" and
"Jerkwater", which are still in use in the meaning of
"insignificant", although today "Jerktown" is rather understood as a "town of jerks".
Ergo, CV = ?
Merced's never been a Jerktown in the former sense.
There's some reason to believe EVERY town is now one of the latter.
Except El Portal--anyone smart enough to have a crib there is no jerk.
