i sometimes wonder
where all the belligerent
and raving lunatic drunks
are hiding.

definitely not amongst
this happy and accomplished bunch.

way too tame.
a total letdown, here.

not a damn fool being made
in the entire room.

who's puking on themselves?
who's doing coke in the bathroom?
who's banging the outside of their wedding ring?

no one. that's who.
i thought we were climbers?
re-authoring the fringe
on a daily basis.
destroying the confining thresholds
of responsibility and respect?

rip your hair out
and make a salad to go with that
zen.

Friday night started out pretty well, with a bottle of Petite Sirah from Clarksburg, just south of Sacramento.

"Anita Nother bottle of wine, Petie," she said, so I opened up the Cycles Gladiator Cab from Lodi. It is pretty good, but not so great as their Petite Sirah that we got up here in Canada last summer.

We ended up doing a Hoser Beer Party in the hallway. Geez, I think those two dudes are actually HIDING their faces! Pussies.

She bought me some tequila this afternoon, so we started out on that. It's frickin' FREEZING here in Gananoque, my bottle of Toasted Head Chardonnay that I left in the van to stay cold actually froze! But I thawed it, or "unthawed" as the Hosers like to say, and it tastes GREAT. Really superb oaky flavour along with a great buttery finish from the secondary malolactic fermentation.

Geez, that's a big word to use after some tequila. Anita nother margarita!

We're off to the hot tub now....

Well now!

After checking in on the last few posts

I have to reflect on boundaries.

PTPP is violating my boundaries about aging guys posing with hot women (Anita) on ST.

These posts just makes me want to drink more H3 Cab & Campus Oaks Zin.

PTPP! You Nasty Old guy, you make me want to drink!

After a week of blissfully warm weather in S. Idontno, Friday night looms again.

Temps have been running 10 F. above the 100 year average. The ranchette is growing weeds like it usually does in April.

Sigh. Kill & burn weeds during the day, celebrate at sunset, drink at night.

Found an $8.95 Bogle red, rated at 91 at Costco today, in the local "Big City". (Twin Falls) Yummy!

I sure am sorry about the big-chill and storm in the Northeast this weekend.

Here's to their suffering!

Greetings friends,

I'm on a road trip... No climbing just visiting.

I have to say - Mediocre wine is really annoying. I don't actually drink all that much so when I do have a glass of wine, I like it to be a good one.

One glass of mediocre Zin, left unfinished, and on to the dinner venue, and a glass of mediocre Chard.

I just don't get it. How hard is it to find a decent wine that you are pricing at $8-12 per glass? Answer: not that friggin hard.

End of rant

I know it's only Wednesday, but boy - this margarita sure tastes good! I am far from drunk, however.

Friday is Anita's birthday, so I set sail for Montreal tomorrow. So Fritz-y Boy, I am fully expecting to Violate Your Boundaries once again this Friday.

Cheers from the Great White North, which is very white indeed these days.

Here's a photo from my dad's 90th birthday party on Sunday, where I brought a lovely bottle of Lodi Petite Sirah, highly recommended if you can get your hands on some.

With me and my folks is my sister. My mom is going to be 96 this year, we are hard to kill!

Ha! Too funny, Susan - my dad calls my mom "The Original Cougar"!!

She was a real hottie in her day. They recently celebrated their 54th anniversary - it's easy to remember because it's one year different from my age, and I'm 55 now.

Or something like that.

Hmmm, maybe it's 56. I don't have my reading glasses on.

They got married at ages 35 and 40. First and only marriage for both, they held out for each other.

Destiny.

Funny, up until now you really pissed me off. I mean, your climbing stories are great and you're my kind if Nutjob, but you date Anita and she's hot and there you go. But now you bring your sister to the party. Nice. We can be friends now. ( yes, apparently I am exactly that kind of dick.)
Have you tried the Sierrra Beer Camp. Very snarky hops. And what's up with the trailer camp Lodi wine. Am I missing something?

Ps. What I'm not missing is your dads Burning Man Beads. I recognize him from the Woodstock Video.

Hey there, say -- knott only is it Friday, but it is Anita's birthday today! [29 again] I could have sworn there used to be a Happy Birthday Anita514 thread here, but I can't find it. What gives?

So we are lazing here in the late afternoon sunshine in her kitchen, meanwhile outside it's like thirty degrees below zero Celsius. She is fearing stepping out into the cold tonight in some cute little dress, but I promised I'd drop her off right at the front door so she won't freeze to death.

We are working on a bottle of Aussie Shiraz that actually tastes better today after we cracked it last night.

Stay tuned for sake bombs later.....
