wow thay is a beautiful video!

trash the french all you want but some of the best climbing has also come from the french.
but that may be the one vice and giving up some blood, talking. No, not selling yet although the kids have left the kiddie department and the mall is only a hop skip and a jump for a teenager!

When the boys come around I will be ready. The visiting Lad will find me sharpening tools, Ice axes, that will send out a shower of sparks as I say

"you have her home early ,young Man ,Before Curfew at 11;00 o'clock, early , you hear me or there will be hell to pay!

pity my wife and daughter they put up with me.
Although the dog chain and house are still an option,
that or a one way ticket to Yosemite.

There is a cold spot in hell that I occupy as my little girl comes of age.
the fact is or is that are well whatever, fact that as a dad I am well rounded and not in the least bit concerned with cool dad syndrome, her friends tell her that their parents think that my wife and I are not as old as the children said we are.

We look younger than we are, and the bus stop parents want to do pizza and beers.(the girls will celebrate the end of snow suits and car escorts at the early -too early bus stop where kids learn all manner of things beyond how to hang out on street corners.

I'm Stoked to watch some play-off hocky and slurp a beer in a room with men swilling beers,
the wife, I know, is dreading it. Women are so catty to one another when they could drop half the pretense and have a much better time.

The fun that these neighbor-hood women derive from others suffering is a wonder to witness, it is telling. A wise thing it is,
(school me later I like the riff)A wise thing it is, to stay far away from them.

They say to each other about us - "They never go to church, and you know, what ungodly things are they into? Prayer shrines on mountaintops? whats that all about?"
But then ,of course, no one asks so I can't attempt to explain, without sounding preachy or worse, fake. Yeah I'm a half non practicing buddhist, and half a heathen rock climber.

I wonder

How Arnaud LeGrand might fare on that same track with the same pro.
A very light person with a long reach vs. a very developed body with more mass might fare better.

The Words

I just can't understand the ways
Of all the men and their mistakes
You give them all your heart
And then they rip it all away

You told me how much you loved me
And how our love was meant to be
And I believed in you
I thought that you would set me free

(REFRAIN):
You should've just told me the truth
That I wasn't the girl for you
Still, I didn't have a clue
So my heart depended on you, whoa

(CHORUS):
Although I'll say I hate you now
Though I'll shout and curse you out
I'll always have love for you
Because I am a girl

Been told a man will leave you cold
Get sick of you and bored
I know that it's no lie
I gave my all, still I just cry

Never again will I be fooled
To give my all when nothing's true
I won't be played again
But I will fall in love again

(REFRAIN)
You should've just told me the truth
That I wasn't the girl for you
Still, I didn't have a clue
So my heart depended on you, whoa

(CHORUS)
Although I'll say I hate you now
Though I'll shout and curse you out
I'll always have love for you
Because I am a girl

I loved you so
Now you leave me in the cold
How could this be?
I thought that you Really Loved Me

Into the Night
I will pray that you're alright
You hurt me so
I just can't let you go

You took advantage of my willingness
To do anything for love
Now I'm the only one in pain
Will you please take it all away?

Never thought Born being A girl
I can love you and be burned
Now I will build a wall
To never get torn again

(CHORUS)
Although I'll say I hate you now
Though I'll shout and curse you out
I'll always have love for you
Because I am a girl

Well See You Soon...

And he let me lead that one. Big of Big Jim.

It was not at all hard. The next bit was my choice, I felt. It went up a perfectly acceptable crack that was low enough angle and so amenable to hands and feet (perfecto) that you couldn't fall out.

I dare you to go and see if you can just fall out of that sky-high straight-as-an-arrow crack.

It leads to a walk over to the summit when it ends. I left Jim to coil the rope.
Jim is big into meteorology and quakes and orbits and leaves me WAY behind in those stratospheric realms.

Kuujjuarapik (Inuktitut: ᑰᔾᔪᐊᕌᐱᒃ small great river) is the southernmost northern village (Inuit community) at the mouth of the Great Whale River (French: Grande Rivière de la Baleine) on the coast of Hudson Bay in Nunavik, Quebec, Canada. About 800 people, mostly Cree, live in the adjacent village of Whapmagoostui.

The community is only accessible by air (Kuujjuarapik Airport) and, in late summer, by boat. The nearest Inuit village is Umiujaq, about 160 km north-northwest of Kuujjuarapik.

But not until we'd seen the elephant.

You saw the view to the north.

I didn't realize that I had all these shots from Jim. It's like a little jackpot for me!

And the stuff south of Rodgers will be Pk. 12,560, Electra (named for my bicycle?), Mt. Ansel Adams, Forester Peak and Long Mtn.

Rixon’s Pinnacle, Far West Face: In June, Dick McCracken and I discovered a new route to the top of Rixon’s Pinnacle. It lies to the left of the West Face so we named it the “Far West Face”.

This makes 5 routes leading to the summit of the 400-foot column.

The face contains fine and difficult free climbing and enjoyable direct aid, plus some interesting and unusual maneuvers.

We placed 29 pitons and one bolt, completing the climb in 5 hours.

The highlight was the last pitch, where the leader must make a vigorous pendulum, grab the edge of a very thin flake, climb to the top of the flake and then hand-traverse for 10 feet to step onto the summit.

NCCS/III-9-A2. Suggested bongware: 2-1½"; 1-2"; 1-2½"; 1-3"; and 1-3½".

NCCS--now that's an oldie!

The Great Banana Hoax
by the Electric Prunes

The album Long Day's Flight (1989).

Leave me
I know you'll never leave me
I know because you please me
The way no one can do the things you put me through
Believe me.

Trust me
You know you've got to trust me
'cause if you don't, you'll bust me
To the shame of calling your name
That's how it must be.

I think of you, soft amber lights
The city's nights shining through my eyes
The colours change, they rearrange
To form a mask for your disguise
I despise all your lies
I despise all your lies.

Find me
Just look inside and find me
Don't try to hide or bind me
From the world that turns all around
Behind me.

We love to put you on.

A.I. Kochegarov:
'The gnome of the diabase'
(Diabase is the type of rock through which the canal was cut)
From: Pravda, 5-8-1933

Summary of the text:

Kochegarov was the only free worker, a craftsman.
Day and night he worked on the lock, only showing up to bring reports on the work.
After that he immediately got back to work,

blowing up the rocks until the seas were joined.

Through his great dedication and care lock 11 was finished in time.
The 'Gnome of the Diabase' Kochegarov, received a medal.

Then all together now, "Coo-cco-coo-choo. Chooga chooga."

Return trip on Hwy. 41 to Avenue Twelve and Madera, then back to NINETY-NINE.
I'm deep in de Nile, I think.

I found out from the Echo Cardigan that there is a hole in my mitral valve and it's flooding the place with leaking blood.

I am NOT going to have that hernia surgery until after open-heart surgery.

Tomorrow is another Scarlett Day.
Tomorrow used to be my neighbor.
She had two children by one man, four by another.
Together, they made a family and she named them
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurdsey, Fry Baby, and Sather Day Day.
Sather Day went to Stanford, but they found he was crazy, like all white men.
He wasn't lazy. He took advice from everyone, liked baseball, climbing, and sex. But he kept on singing,
whenever he said anything.

"I'm a bluebird, pousse, pousse, Why did you grade me down on that paper, you silly old man."

He's gone. He was run over by the Budweiser truck. That is, he died an alcoholic.

"If I had a thousand sons, the first humane principle I would teach them should be to forswear thin potations and to addict themselves to sack."

A gen-you-wine motorcycle joke for zBrown.[Click to View YouTube Video]

Okay, here's the skinny on how Rixon's Pinnacle got its name.

[Excerpted from the obituary in the Sonoma Register.]

"Tom Rixon died peacefully at his home Monday, July 26, 2004. He was a resident of Healdsburg for 26 years. He was born December 9, 1919 in San Francisco, CA.

In his early 1920s he was an avid rock climber and biker and spent a lot of time in Yosemite National Park where he became a part-time ranger.

There is a pinnacle in the valley, Rixon's Pinnacle, named for him.

Tom is survived by his wife, Betty, who he met while she was also working in Yosemite..."

For Mr. I - 8 Plastic. Cheers!

“One day we were over al Phil [Lesh]’s house… He had a big dictionary. I opened it and there was ‘Grateful Dead’, those words juxtaposed. It was one of those moments, you know, like everything else went blank, diffuse, just sort of oozed away, and there was GRATEFUL DEAD in big, black letters edged all around in gold, man, blasting out at me, such a stunning combination. So I said, ‘How about Grateful Dead’? And that was it.” – Jerry Garcia
