I wish our President, would try and defuse this. It's fueled by a perception among much of the electorate that "Washington is Broken". A meeting with the powers-that-be in Congress, from Both sides of the aisle, would be a good start

This is NOT a "both sides do it" situation. Just before I tuned to the taco, I read how senator Grassley has not responded to an invitation from the President to discuss the Supreme Court appointment. Wtf? When Obama proposed his budget a couple of weeks ago, Obama staff werent even invited to testify before congress, which is a first.

Yes, I understand that the budget and Supreme Court nominees are non starters . But who is failing to listen to whom here? Who is doing the snubbing here? This type of crap has gotten worse lately, as right wingers up for reelection and fearful of the base are too chicken to bother governing, but it's been going on for years.

Another example from this morning: senator Shelby, the banking committee chair, hasn't held hearings On Obama nominees in months.

Even to some sort of financial finagling, that Mexico will pay for it.

You have to not be paying much attention to think this is an option. Republicans are "all in" on this. The best they can do is endorse non-Trump candidates, who are whipping the exact same flames of xenophobia, distrust, nationalism and disillusionment as Trump. McConnell and Ryan know that if they piss off their zealot base they will be without jobs pretty quickly.

This is true but not because Trump "gets things done" but for Trump to win there also has to be Republican majorities in both houses of Congress. At best, Dems will filibuster it.

It's time for level-headed people to tone down the anti-Hillary rhetoric. We are in a war for the future of our country.

Wrong. It's not liberal heads that are exploding. Liberals are quite confident the dem candidate--likely Hillary--can beat him

I said LEB and no one got it.. such a serious crowd..
maybe because LIBERALS heads are about to explode...

These are great posts, and say what I want to say, only they say it better:

Anger is a good motivator and Republicans have had 7 years of being whipped into a frenzy by their godheads on the AM radio dial. Add in Fox and a black president who most of them think is a Muslim and you have the perfect environment for a virulent nationalist like Trump.

If you're thinking he can't possibly win the White House, think again. Look at the turnout he's generating. His "stick it to China" schtick appeals to working class white voters - and they can tolerate the bigotry. Sure, his candidacy could generate the same reaction from Democrat's and Independent's looking on in horror...but maybe not. Maybe they won't vote in the numbers you think.

Trump may have to leave campaign trail for court appearance for Fraud

http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2016/02/23/Trump-may-have-to-leave-campaign-trail-for-court-appearance/9171456270740/

EW YORK, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- A class-action lawsuit against Donald Trump over the now defunct Trump University is headed to trial, and Trump is among those slated to testify.

The suit, filed in 2013, claims Trump's school -- now called The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative -- scammed students out of thousands of dollars and never delivered on promises to make them wealthy real estate investors.
There is no trial date yet, but court filings show Trump is scheduled to testify.

Trump has had to sneak away from the campaign trail once already because of the case. On Dec. 10, the day he caused a firestorm for proposing a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, he also gave a deposition in the case, according to court records. The deposition remains sealed.

Tarla Makaeff, the lead plaintiff in the case, is attempting to withdraw from the suit because she claims Trump has threatened to destroy her financially for bringing it in the first place.

Schneiderman brought the suit the same year Makaeff did after an investigation into the unaccredited, for-profit school that found "persistent fraudulent, illegal and deceptive conduct." Trump slammed the investigation at the time, even creating a website to combat Schneiderman's allegations.

The civil suit is seeking $40 million in damages from Trump on behalf of 5,000 people across the country who were persuaded to pay exorbitant fees "for a series of expensive courses that did not deliver on their promises."

The New York Times reported the investigation was prompted by several complaints from people who enrolled in Trump University.

I will have a hard time justifying to myself remaining in a corporate nazi regime America if Trump is elected. Sad for my adult kids and their families if they cannot be willing to pull up roots and hike over the Alps into Switzerland with Nana and Pop. Also sad for for my employees. Thanks a lot to all you ridiculous puppets, go ahead and look away. And don't forget your mantra, "We didn't ask questions."

She really is quite charming. I also think she can get things done, via "Old Girl Network", as well. Circumventing the retarded giant egos in D.C. That said, you don't have to "like" any of them. They won't be sitting at your table for dinner.

The one downside, her career thus far, would suggest she will only do one term. I haven't seen anyone press her on this.

First, you speak yourself. And supporters of other candidates are just as adamant that their candidate should win. Everyone is "shoving" their own candidate. Your selective outrage is duly noted.

Second, the cold hard fact is that the only way to avert a trump presidency is to vote for Clinton. Sanders cannot beat him. Yes, it sucks to vote against someone instead of for someone, but I didn't write the rules, and it's time to get serious about beating Trump.

It's called an election. Nobody is jamming anything down your throat. While you are complaining, Mrs. Clinton is criss-crossing the country making her case to voters from sunup to sundown. Trump flies in for a few rallies and spends his day on Twitter.

I really don't care who you like, to be honest.

If it is. H CLINTON, then all the perceived evils of Bill will be mixed with the big sick, if needed.

That is far from a universal opinion at this point. Some recent polls have shown exactly the opposite in fact. This is despite the fact that typical polling has been thrown into disarray and that many of the young voters are next to impossible to reach for polling at this point. Maybe they will figure it out soon.

Question:

I heard on the news this morning that, the Nevada delegates will be split up between the five GOP candidates, as any of them receiving more that 3% of votes gets a share of the delegates.

My question is: What happens to delegates which are assigned to a candidate if that candidate suspends their campaign?

The news story also had someone saying that the only way to stop Trump from winning the nomination, at this point, would be for all but Rubio to suspend their campaigns. The votes are being diluted because they are spread out to so many. the person said.

I doubt there is much chance of any of them stepping down on their own accord, but I wonder if the RNC is trying to find a way to make that happen.
