PTPP & Phylp! I can't improve on your merry Holiday climbing melody-----at the moment.
Rain here in Choss Creek, snow in the mountains, and we are venturing 90 miles to visit art, culture, & wealth in Sun Valley for a Solstice party tomorrow night.
(I'm not good with the 1% that rule Sun Valley----them fokers!)
Oh schist, I hate driving in snow anymore, after hundreds of thousands of winter sales-rep miles, driving in the Rockies, and only one totaled vehicle.
But it was one heck of a party last year.

On a brighter note!
We tested a new "high-test" 15.5% alcohol Zin tonight. Earthquake Zin 2012. I find it a little complex for my rustic tongue, and with all that alcohol it evaporated rapidly at our high altitude. I think it might be pretty good.
Heidi got her Solstice Lingam lit today, and of course, impressed with its turgid majestry, we just had to sing the Solstice lingam song.
(Sung to O Tannenbaum)
O Solstice Lingam,
O Solstice Lingam,
How lovely are thy basaltic rugosities.

All right! That was easy - and I'd been trying to come up with a bridge for years, and never came up with anything half as good - thanks, Phylp!
Holy crap, Susan - a degree AND a job?! Will wonders never cease. You might even be able to retire with some money left over now, eh?
"and with all that alcohol it evaporated rapidly at our high altitude."
I laughed out loud at that one, Fritz! Amazingly, alcohol can "evaporate" quite quickly here at 246' above seal level.
Ha! Seal level. That's Quebec. Don't suppose there are any Quebec-ers [not Quebecoises] in the audience.....?
{crickets}
But she told me she's all packed.... Anita nother beer.

Whine, Whisky, or Beer. at home in Yule time and alone etc . etc.
Half shots at a time chased with fresh lime the same way that U suck lemon and salt after taquila shooters.
Three of them . . .
We all have days that comemerate when
Your good Mama split n' spit YA'
Do we all need to be reminded that.
Iit won't be long now!!
Play me A Song Saquawcka !!
Not going climbing or skiing
((No more ice climbing for me any more!!after all the years,s one scary fall, it is over for me, I miss it already!))
hard break
say some thing strongly out of place the cobblers children need shoes, a good story in Norwedgian. . . . They have no shoes.
also
Early morning father/Daughter commitment
Now about that song. . . ? . . . .Hmmm
Nothing yet!
Ho you better watch out. You better not climb You better check your knott and tie another grape vine
Santa Clause is coming to town
falling down drunk try (well, not really: hyperboley, for artistic effect )
blame the booze!
He sees your freshest project
and
sends it before the bolts
are dry
down grading it loudly
so even your girl friend, Who is tone deaf, should give it a try !
So loud she can hear it.
and He says it,
it is only ok and maybe .12c?
and no way any harder
Even onsight!,
so you better watch out you better not climb you better check your knott and tie another grapevine
Santa Clause is. coming to town.

A little Holiday literary cheer about "high-altitude" drinking.
Wine is a more complex substance than one might think, and, above two thousand metres, and at close to zero degrees centigrade, it displays interesting behavioral anomalies. It changes flavor, loses the bite of alcohol, and regains the mildness of the grape from which it comes. One can take it in heavy doses without any undesired effects. In fact, it eliminates fatigue, loosens and warms the limbs, and leads to a fanciful mood. It is no longer a luxury or a vice but a metabolic necessity, like water on the plains.

Happy New Year everyone!
So, like, last Friday we were down south - no internet, so like, sorry, eh? Anyway that morning, we walked to the beach. And there was this sign:
"NATURIST BEACH"
Anita says, "Oh look, Petie - a naturalist beach! I'm a naturalist! I even brought my Audobon Field Guide to the Birds and everything. We can look at pelicans and frigate birds and stuff!"
Petie says, "Um, there ain't no "al" in "naturist", hon...."
Needless to say, it was an eye-opening experience for Our Anita514. Nevertheless, she embraced the naturist lifestyle.
Here we are, together, in this photo....
.... don't scroll down unless you're ready.....
... are you sure?
... like, it's almost Friday night, eh?
OK, OK..... this is BEFORE she embraced the lifestyle.....
Friday is coming, but we are drinking mango margaritas tonight in the Great White North! Woo-hoo!!

No prob keeping brewskies and wine cold in Yosemite. Just a short time in the bear locker does the trick! Hanging in there in mid 20s.
Cute Petey and Anita. You were right Petey, you be the Lobster Boy.

Anita & Pete - LOVE the photo. It's great to see people somewhere warm and sunny.
It's been frikkin' FREEZING in So Cal this week.
Freezing being a different reality down here. 55 F. is freezing.
Spider, hope you had a great vacation in the Valley.
I've had 4 housegeuests for a week. Happy to have them here, happy to now have my house back with my sweetie tonite.
A glass of Chardonnay and then, realizing more decompression was needed, followed up with an OJ and Bombay Sapphire.

Another cold & snowy week in Idaho, so I have of course been watching college football bowl games------and drinking.
A little Alexander Valley Vineyards Cab tonight and a little Costco Napa Valley Rotgut, eases the pain of cold.
Soooooooo! Kudos to the Pac 12 Conference, which has the best record of any conference in bowl games this winter.
So far, only one Pac 12 team has lost a bowl game this winter.
And of course mighty Oregon knocked off the reigning national champ, Florida State and looks like they will rip Ohio State a new one for the National Championship!
Woohoho to the Pac 12 & Oregon!
sluurp.
and of course lowly Boise State was the only team to beat a Pack 12 team in a bowl game.
and of course, the one they beat-----Arizona, was the only team this year that beat mighty Oregon.
Go Oregon.
sluuuup.
How bout them BSU Broncos?
By the way!
I drink to the SEC having the worst bowl-game record of all the major conferences.
FUK those SEC puffed-upped-redneck-uppity-Dooedes & the Alabama they rode in on!

Fritz,
I don't understand this strange four-down football you Merricans play. We only need three downs up here.
"Anita & Pete - LOVE the photo. It's great to see people somewhere warm and sunny."
Thanks, Phyl. Here's one more from last week. Dang, what a smile ... {sigh}
It would have been around 75F when ^^ this photo ^^ was taken. Contrast the photo above from the Caribbean with this one taken tonight at Mt. Tremblant up 'ere in da Great White Nort'... qu'est-ce que tu le fuk?
Only 75 degrees colder! We had to warm our buns in front of the campfire. Kind of her to loan me her Anita toque, eh? OK, it's not really a toque, but it's not like THIS audience would know the difference!
Anyway, back home here, I'm in charge of the margaritas, and Anita mixed us up some kick-ass guacamole.
Susan aka "Orange Blossom" - we did knott initially recognize you in Tom's El Cap Meadow photo.
And Dean - whaddya mean "beast" ???!! Sheesh.

OK Fritz I watched a bit of the South Bowl (can't remember the real name) yesterday Ohio vs Alabama (?). It was complete football overload for me after the rels also had watched the Rose Bowl. I went to bed at 9 PM and read a good mystery book.
My brother-in-law asked me and sweetie if we knew what SEC stood for. Sweets said Securities and Exchange Commission, I said Southern Equality Conference.
Next summer at COR we need to talk more live, Fritz. There was so much going on I barely spoke to you in person!
Edit "only 75 degrees colder"
LOL, LOVE it!
Stay warm, peeps!
