Corgis probably have the highest toughness to weight ratio of any dog. And plenty of smarts!
My folks had a wonderful Corgi named (Captain) Morgan. We loved to picnic up in the Wasatch canyons in the winter with friends and dogs.
There was a very large and ornery Malemute making Morgan's life unpleasant in the deep snow. In a flash Morgan dodged between the Malemute's front legs, turned upwards and grabbed a mouthful of belly. Malemute promptly yelled in fright and twisted to try to grab Morgan. By which time he had leapt 2 feet away and was standing his ground.
Malemute unhurt but definitely owned. Didn't bother Morgan again for the rest of the day.
Excellent little dogs. Sometimes I still miss that little guy.

Hey yeah, thanks, been mostly lurking, obviously, just not much to say
these days (here).
Logistical issues have been keeping me closer to home this year.
Got one trip up to Tuolumne/Tioga area, two weeks ago, that delightful
weekend included unexpected bonus of running into Melissa and the artist
formerly known as Shaggy, while successfully seeking out Lynnie.
Very sweet.
We'll work on getting me back up to where I belong.
My last previous trip to the mountains was Memorial Day, when we were up
at Chipmunk Flat.

Cheers
