I like to sew up cracks with pro. I am a coward. I am a girl. So this psuedo name fit.

Why not my own name? I was harassed endlessly by an old time climber who thought that you must be a pro-bolter or an anti-bolter. The world only comes in black and white. I am exhausted from years of constant vigilance resulting from his bolt war. I want to prolong peace in my climbing world.

I eat obscene amounts of candy while climbing. Karo is corn syrup, cornsyrup is in candy, and there it is. I know it's bad for me but the energy level stays high.

lol, never saw this before. went on a family vacation to maui when i was about 8 and was fascinated with their native language. i made up a name for myself using ( i thought ) only letters in their alphabet and that i thought sounded hawaiian. its my handle/nickname for everything.

I used to ride freight trains and hitchhike to get West. Steve Araiza used to call me "Hobo Dan the man who's done everything" It made me laugh and I chose that as my handle when I signed on to this place.

My parents gave it to me. I didn't bother with a handle since I didn't see the point.

Jackson Browne's 'The Pretender' struck a chord with me long ago. To wit:

"I'm gonna be a happy idiot, and struggle for the legal tender...."

But, things are now looking up, and I'm presently transitioning into an actually interesting line of employment; hopefully no more mundane struggle for the legal tender.

I was trying to figure out just exactly what happened to Steve McKinney. I chanced upon the Steve McKinney thread on ST. At some point I decided to make a comment, but I couldn't without signing up. Looked around, liked the avatar of WBraun, so I contracted a high scholl nickname and became zBrown.

Also, Da Brim was taken.

Spider fits in so many ways. I don't care for my real name; Chris. Having the last name Savage has been very fun. It's great to have a cool last name.

This nickname came to me in high school as direct result of a great man and a great skier, Spider Sabitch of Tahoe.

It's a made up word from two words that you wouldn't put together in German, but I thought they sounded nice together (and conveniently, almost always available as screen name).

lila Biene = "leelah beeneh" = purple bee

Fittingly...odd.

It was an alias used to go to the frat houses and drink their beer. No one on this forum would believe my given name, however. If we were one and the same person, it would have meant that one of the first climbers of the Salathe Wall would have been 8 years old at the time.
