Edit: Just looked up Human Rights Day an it's actually a real holiday!
Just not on the same day s Martin Luther King Jr. Day.... It's an International Holiday, on December 10th.

Its not about whether there are shithole countries or not. Its about how our leader leads. Granted this was said behind closed doors, but Trump has said many terrible things about lots of people and places and done it out in the open. You may admire this as a form of honesty, but as the leader of our country, how he represents us matters. Wars have been started based on less then some of what Trump has said in public. I can't imagine that that is what you want. So yes, there is a difference between when an average citizen thinks or says something, and when the president of the United States of America says something. Its called being diplomatic. You might believe that your mother in-law is a nasty woman, I purposely didn't use the B word, but if your wife is still trying to maintain a relationship with her, then you likely wouldn't say what you think. Thats being diplomatic. Its a valuable tool to have and use and its extremely important for our President.

Jody, it's pretty much exactly what John M said.
No one would dispute that there are many countries with lower avg incomes than the US, and worse living conditions. However, the as I understand it, the context of the conversation was about immigration. It's not like those countries are immigrating, it's people.The US has always tried to be welcoming to those less fortunate. And Christians are also supposed to be that way. Are you advocating for that to change?
And we should perhaps also look at ourselves. Some of those "shithole" country diseases are now starting to spread in the US:

people are people. They will take offense. Plus making disparaging remarks about other countries leaders is one way wars are started. Do you even care about that? Its also how we lose respect and lose support from other countries. And we need other countries support, whether you think so or not.
You don't seem to understand the importance of diplomacy.

How has that been working so far? Just check out "cities" that the dems run.
On the contrary, Trump vowed to "drain the swamp" and in the process of doing so he has ruffled some feathers and stepped on a few toes. In the end, he will go down as one of the greatest presidents ever.
Someone is trying to salvage the country, but it isn't the dems. They are the ones, most recently led by Obama, that did nothing but denigrate and put down our country. Trump is trying to reverse that.
And any disparaging remarks toward other countries are directed at the people running those countries, not the poor citizens living under the oppressive rule of the corrupt governments.
When a certain level of idiocy is reached, as in the above post, no further attempts at rational discourse should be attempted until the poster of such idiocy begins to show at least some meager cognitive ability.
The post starts off by not understanding that jogill’s quoted post was ironic. But then it gets so much worse. And if it wasn’t a post by Jody, I’d just assume whoever wrote it must have been forced to write it with a gun pointed at his head because no one could really be that stupid.

*Of course, the reality is that Volvo’s new chinese overlords ordered this just to jack Murricans around. Apparently Canuckistanis can still order one! What kinda discrimination is that?
