Great sequence of Johnny on the Satellite boulder (previous page), Craig.
But that can't be bouldering. The last photo is the give-away. No pads.
What sport is that??

In all this Mr. Natural stuff, we've neglected the artificial bouldering, a.k.a., buildering, nonsense.
The bridge traverse on Rubidoux, with a good shot of World Peace—another excellent hand-traveling problem. Harrison did seven full traverses (out and back) of the Bridge Traverse—a testament to his commitment, his high degree of resistance to boredom, and his insensate fingertips.

The left side of the Satellite was thrilling, but it was definitly the kind of problem any seasoned Josh boulderer would do first try. The right side, not so much. At leaset not me. I climbed up and down and up and down many times before committing to the big move to the sloper dish. My legs shook a bit standing on top. Once was enough...

Dr. F on his glue-on creation
1990ish
built in 1987
not sure if it's still there, even though it's only 3 miles away from my house
I know they chopped the traverse walls, so I assumed they chopped everything.

Ward Lake? It's been a while since I was up that way, but I used to be an Alps regular.
