V is very likely going to end up penniless or more likely in big debt.

I had to read up on all this sheeit once. I can see where Attorney Sterling might be required to reimburse the community, but I don't see where V. would be. Admittedly, I didn't go far enough into it to examine the impact of findsings/accusations of fraud etc on the part of V.

Went to the Big Apple, took a bite (or got bitten).

"everyone present had "NO doubt" that Sterling is the man" refers to NBA lawyers who listened to the tape at V's lawyer's office.

But TMZ Sports says everyone present had "NO doubt" that Sterling is the man on the recording, after listening to the 15 minutes that were made public.
The site is also reporting that sources who have heard the entire hourlong recording say Sterling absolutely knew he was being recorded. TMZ Sports has reported Stiviano has said she has more than 100 hours of recorded conversations with the 80-year-old Sterling, who is said to have used the tapes to refresh his memory because he frequently forgot what he said.

So say TMZ Sports.

Yeah....I don't think that's the primary reason, exactly. It's pretty hard for any person...male or female... to not consider the wealth and potential financial security that a mate could bring to them and their lives together. I'd agree with you to the extent that the wealth disparity is more likely with a male, probably related to the social dominance that men have in this culture.

No, the reason why old guys like (relatively) younger women is just basic evolutionary biology. Old guys are still fertile, old women are not.
Old guys who go around impregnating young women genes are more likely to be passed on. It therefore gives them an evolutionary advantage.

Old women who "mate" with young men will not get pregnant. It confers no evolutionary advantage.

Note that this is a consequence of basic human physiology. It has nothing whatsoever to do with "social dominance" or "wealth disparity." (Although it is possible that social factors add to the physiology that I have explained, that is pure speculation.)

While the above explanation is irrefutable, let me ask a question to anyone who may remain unconvinced:
Which is more common:
Old goat reading Playboy (or modern equivalent)?
Old cougar reading Playgirl (or modern equivalent)?

V's attorneys claim they don't know who actually gave the tape to TMZ and apparently there are many more hours of tape. Could have been someone paid by Mrs. S or a business rival or potential buyer of the Clippers.

blahblah, both the genetic and the practical (financial) elements play a role in why one gender might choose an older mate.

that's rather silly. Possibly true in earlier times when procreation was an imperative.

Not even true for Henry VIII who took young Anne Bolyn because none of his earlier queens had given him a male heir. A political imperative.
And of course because she was a physical and intellectual hottie by all accounts. Why'd he whack off her head? No male heir (stupid Bustard, Queen Elizabeth I was one of the best monarchs in English history) and he believed she was plotting against him and/or screwing around (history still unclear).

Basic human physiology is young people mating (best chance at healthy reproduction), the social order is rich old dudes with power also get young people to mate with. Old poor dudes don’t get sht.

Listening to Sterling he most likely has some mild dementia, his family should be worried that some gold digger is going to fleece their inheritance as he seems like an easy mark.

OK apogee and HT, I can see you remain unconvinced; it may require more explanation of evolutionary biology ("EB") than I am really qualified to give or is appropriate for this thread.

But please do remember that the biological impulses affecting Sterling and his ilk are not necessarily operating at the conscious level.

Here is a related point: most men think sex is pleasurable, and desire it even when the don't desire children. They may even have had a vasectomy.

But those studied in the science of EB will explain that the reason men perceive sex to be pleasurable is because of EB, even when the impulses are no longer relevant to modern conditions or even the conscious desires of a particular specimen.

Thus with Sterling--he is not necessarily conscious of why he desires a relationship with a young (fertile) woman, and he consciously does not want children with her, but nevertheless EB provides the key to understanding this "relationship."

Actually, blah, I agree that there is a genetic role in mate selection & age...

I just don't think that it is the only role in the equation. It's just not that simple.

I have no argument against the evolutionary biology explanation until a recent time.

As humans became more social creatures, status began to affect individual success. Attaining food, wealth, mates, beyond the biological imperative becomes an end in itself. Pride and avarice. Avarice is obvious in Spermling's case if you look at his enormous belly. Most Buddha statues would envy it.

The "biological imperative" to produce more children is the great excuse for denying contraception and for polygamous marriages.

So, if it is just natural and mother nature's way when an 80 yr old hooks up with a 30 yr old, then why does this 'natural' arrangement make her a whore or a gold-digger? Wouldn't that just make her a product of nature? Sounds like the way God would want it. Why all the hate TOWARD HER then?
