I am unaware of a bathing suit breast shot from face level that you are talking about, so I can't speak to it. As far as my memory is concerned, there has been the one photo. And that is all.
I learned from that posting that even in the context of a joke, and even in a community that is supposedly open-minded, and even in a community in which Lynn Hill and others have climbed topless (see her book on her feelings about it; and I've seen no one slandering her or others), showing any portion of breast is a big no-no. It does make *some* feel that they can then attack even if they don't know the person, even if they don't know the context, and even if it happened close to a decade before. That is their problem.
I personally don't think it's right - no one attacked Donini or Malcolm for their swimming suit photos - but it's reality. As I mentioned above, I learned from the one photo. Since then I've not posted many climbing photos for fear that there is too much cleavage (cleavage happens in climbing bras). I've not posted many climbing photos for fear it's too much a butt shot (butt shots happen). Live and learn.
edit: oh, I remember now Murf. It was the photo of what I see on vacation. At a pool a shot toward my feet. I remember what you are talking about now. Still, it doesn't mean attacks are okay. New rule: No more bathing suit shots on the taco.

showing any portion of breast is a big no-no.
Personally I am appalled that in the supposedly advanced and sophisticated
United States of America it is considered fine and normal for
prime time TV shows to portray such heinous acts of violence
but not the human body.
My kids can witness throat slashings but god forbid a nipple should be shown.
Stupid juvenile morality.

In general, please don't misrepresent the question I posed with the response being deserved. I asked if such photos would make you more of a target of abuse. I never said, nor do I believe, that such photos make you deserve such abuse.

I mostly avoid the really big political thread and God thread because of the invective. Its too hard to wade through some much hatred. I don't have a problem with the occasional use of harsh language, sometimes you need it to make a point. But the constant use just gets old, and the near constant attacks become difficult to wade through.
As for Jeff, I didn't like any of his attacks. I have not seen him say one decent thing. I didn't say anything in regards to his attacks on males because some of them also attack others. I just tried to ignore them, but it still gets old.
I don't want a forum where one can never say " F u locker". But I also don't want a forum where it is constant.

I did like the photos of Crimpie cuddling with her birdies. They were kind of cute, and generated a few ribald remarks, but were hardly inappropriate.

Medusa is not really an anonymous avatar, since here in soCal lots of folks know him by this nickname who don’t even know his real name. He's just "The Medusa."
I’ll say this, in the real world he is a trusted friend welcome in my home, and I always enjoy seeing him. I don’t know what motivated him to toss a bunch of turds in the punchbowl here, but it sure did result in an entertaining thread. There’s nothing like seeing a bunch of people with their panties in a bunch over morning coffee.
If he were to sling mud at me on the forum I’d just sling some back and laugh it off. But he crossed gender lines with a popular member and got kind of personal which obviously touched a collective nerve.
Just a passing observation that several of those whose panties are the most bunched up are among the same who post vociferously on certain political threads and have no reservations whatsoever when it comes to hurling insults and worse at anyone who would dare to question their beliefs.
I’ll also mention that several years ago I (stupidly) posted something mean about Crimpie having to do with climbing. She was much more upset with me then, than she appears to be now about Medusa’s troll, which goes to show that she has her priorities straight (Of course I apologized, have met her since, and last I checked we’re on good terms.)

In do wish that there was at least some basic moderating on the site. Pate has accused me in annother thread of stalking a woman for 200 posts and then deleteing them. That is A VERY SERIOUS allegation that is simply not true. Has not even the slightest grain of truth to it. I would love to report it to a mod and get that allegation removed. This is the 2nd time he brought this up. Perhaps he is confuseing me with someone else. If not pate is just a liar and a cowardly bully.

i dont wan't to stir the punchbowl, but i understand what murf was trying to say and i think he actually tried to spell it out in a decent way.
let's fce it, there are men and women on here who met here and who are "looking" for a "relationship" of some sort or other. when i first read medussa's post about crimpie i had the feeling that he may have been trying to get back at her for something that went on between the two of them. we have seen that sort of thing on these pages...
now as to her pics, some of them could have been taken from a males point of view as suggestive, but this in NO way means that a males predatory instincts should take over nor is it assigning the blame to a woman who might post such pics. but you got to admit, it can be a catalyst to creeps and sometimes it doesnt take much. it would seem in this case that they are unrelated.
i hear locker is still waiting for LEB to post her "stroking her pussy pics"....pussycat that is....

crimpie, my post was not meant to single you out. clearly he made some rough comments (Turner's TR) that were not appreciated. i have to believe though that most of those would have been dealt with differently if you were not a well respected female poster who treats everyone with respect. i have a feeling that philo had his white horse ready....not saying thats bad, just gentlemanly....call it old school.
