Trump is not detestable because he is successful. He is detestable because he is a boorish narcissist who has been a pain in the ass for a lot of people for many decades.

If you google Trump and almost any other word, you will find some of the hundreds of skeletons he has in his gold-plated closet. His wealth is directly related to how many people he has burned.

Not shown on the Google results are the thousands of people he has ripped off with the rigged games in his casinos. Al Capone and Lucky Luciano were also gambling moguls. Would you vote for them?

The only reason Trump's gambling business was legal is that Atlantic City wanted to move in on the illegal gambling rackets, and get some of that cash for itself. It is still a rip-off, with rigged games that in the long run give the player no chance of coming out ahead. If you somehow figure out how to win, the casino bans you for life. It's legalized theft.

That is how Trump made his $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - - - ripping people off.

Trump a successful businessman? Yeah right.

His rich father gave him a bundle to start with. He could have made at least as much by investing in a stock index fund...

How many of his casinos have failed and businesses have gone bankrupt?

Yes, politics in this country are screwed up. And Hillary isn't particularly exciting. But it dumbfounds me that anyone that thinks that a rude, loudmouth loser like Trump is the answer.

The Scottish are usually pretty proud of their famous sons ... not Trump though, he's absolutely hated in Scotland, and the reasons provide a pretty good window into the sort of person he is.

Having said that, I'm becoming more and more convinced that he's at least partly Trojan Horse. And if thats true then he's certainly been successful at doing huge, maybe even catastrophic damage to the Republican party.....just goes to show...no-ones all bad.

Jorroh,

Well said.

I have NEVER posted on a politard thread, but I hate Trump so much I can't help myself. I'm sure the majority of Europeans are appalled that he is even in the race!

If he ever wins this race-which I doubt the whole planet will suffer. This guy cannot stop putting his foot in his mouth and is appallingly undiplomatic.

He is doing one hell of a good job bringing the Republican party down.

Even our bestest friends, the British, are appalled, having voted recently (unsuccessfully) to ban him from Britain for his bigoted views.

He'd be the first president since, I dunno, revolutionaries Thomas Jefferson or John Adams, maybe, to earn such from the British.

Bigoted Americans are 10 a penny, thats not why he's hated over there, in Scotland at least.... its much more about some shady real estate dealings which did real harm to Scotland.

In this case, it was because of his bigotry.

In this day and age in American politics (in the world?), charisma trumps truth.

A sad reality, all too frequently seen.

http://billmoyers.com/story/how-scotland-got-trumped/

I've been spending the summers in Scotland most recent years and can say for certain that this affair left a very bad taste in the mouths of Scottish people with regards to Trump. It wasn't just the actual damage to the dunes (a european heritage site I believe).
The scots have a very strong sense of social justice and many of the aspects of this affair (the use of eminent domain...influence of public institutions such as local councils, police, planning commissions etc. ) were utterly offensive to many.

There's no doubt that Trumps racist comments play very poorly in the UK and provided a nice pretext for the petition... but the groundwork had been laid long before he was a presidential candidate.

I really think he will our next President. It is like a wildfire, for some unexplainable reason the right conditions always exist in the wrong time. It is like nature embraces the chaos, as do people in strange ways are drawn to forces that don't make sense. I am willing to bet he will have a significant votes in both Hispanic and African Americans, despite all the bigotry claims against him. I do not think he has a chance with female voters, unless maybe Melania is a powerful speaker, which you never know, maybe? It may not even be close. It may turn out that Hillary is the Democrats trojan horse, there is something about her that is very dis-likable, not to mention nobody trusts her.

You are delusional - in fact, anyone supporting him is delusional. The best you can say about him is he is the direct result of a fifty year gop campaign of increasingly shrill hate, fear and anti-government rhetoric. They've entirely brought it upon themselves - their monster has finally turned on its masters.

John Kasich, Not a Moderate
He's just as extreme as Rubio, he just doesn't say it as loud
He hasn't done anything good for his state of Ohio

No he is not moderate. It just shows how far the Republican Party has veered that he is now considered a moderate. He did two noteworthy, non conservative things: his state did not reject Obamacare subsidies, and he said deporting 11 million people was ridiculous. Other than, 100% conservative.
