Moosedrool: Re your post!
The study found nearly one in three adults to be an excessive drinker and that most of them binge drink, usually on multiple occasions. It also found that nearly 1 in 30 adults is classified as “alcohol dependent.” The rates of alcohol dependence increase with the amount of alcohol consumed.
Fact: Excessive alcohol use is responsible for 88,000 deaths in the U.S. each year (including about 3,700 deaths from alcohol dependence), and cost the U.S. $223.5 billion in 2006. So what does this mean to you?
Moosesober (at the moment)
That's good information and a good decision on your part.
I'll drink to that!

Funny because I just read a study that said people who drink 1 - 3 drinks a day will live much longer than those who don't drink at all - reason: social bongs are stronger, increasing happiness and longevity...

DUH. I definitely owe both of you a beer for that. Geeez, clearly not drunk enough.
How wrong of me to miss that, and here I was thinking I might be Mr. Right.
Time to mix up a margarita! I gotta go find my lost shaker of salt.

Not a problem for us ST friends. We believe you were thinking about the lovely Anita.
Yes! We old farts are all jealous.
Only drinking can heal that.
or fishing & drinking.

Laughing again, Pete. I was going to give you some crap about missing the joke but I see you are pleasantly distracted these days. Good on ya! Fritz and I live vicariously here on the ole Taco.
I'm enjoying some red wine tonight. I started with some Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso from the Calderarra Sottana cru. This is from Marco de Grazie's winery In Sicily. The grape is Nerello Mascalese, an indigenous varietal from Sicily. These wines drink like a cross between a Barolo or Barbaresco and a fine Burgundy. Really interesting wines.
Now I'm enjoying a nice Sangiovese from the Carmignano region, made by Capezzana.
Sluurp.

Dammit Moose, Why did you have to roach my buzz? I tried to miss that thread but you got me to check it out. Feck. I've known about this nonsense for years and it never gets less annoying. I hear they like Moose innards and antler velvet too, so you better watch out.

Having ended up back at PTPP's opening post while backing into this thread: I must once again cite his opening rules for this thread!
Rules:
1. Your current consumption
2. At least one inflammatory comment **
3. Why you are drunk and typing on McTopo instead of doing something worthwhile, like driving to the crag.
Last nice day of the current respite to winter in Choss Creek. The forecase uglies up for the weekend.
6o F. this afternoon, & we did more clean-up on the ranchette, planted Idaho Fescue seeds in bare spots, cut down a tree, and celebrated at 4:30 PM as the sun was sinking.

One of me mum's inexhaustible supply of 'quaint' serviettes.
At 88 she still parties pretty hard! When I was in Florence I was instructed
to swing by Harry's Bar to see if they missed her! Yeah, they missed her AMEX card.
