[oops... I see MisterE had the same thought]
Does anyone have better info on how to get to the Stone House?
We're likely driving over in the morning, so we'll want to rendez-vous at the trailhead I guess, or possibly at the Stone House, so it would be nice to know how to get there.

T-n-T! Be great to see you guys...
Here's some directions I scarfed off summitpost:
"From the town of Lone Pine, head west on the Whitney Portal road. Follow this to the Horseshoe Meadows road ( turn left , south ) and follow this road past the Tuttle Creek Campground Road to Granite View Drive. Turn right on Granite View Drive and head west , turning right at a fork past a house. Follow the well worn dirt road which ends on the south side of Tuttle Creek at about 6,800'.
From the end of the road follow the trail on the south side of Tuttle Creek for a mile to the Stone House..."

I vaguely remember driving all the way to the stonehouse, two years ago, but maybe I was on the wrong side of the creek, but what a great view of that huge rock wall on LP peak (what, the southest side?).
I never met brutusowyde, but he (his trip reports, etc) inspired me when I was just starting to climb, 19 years ago, when he would post on rec.climbing with eric coomer, or am I confusing him with someone else, sorry in advance.

At Em's request, I've gotten into contact with the Lone Pine Film Museum, and I'm trying to confirm a time to show the films and the slide show at the Museum on Saturday night, August 29th, from 7:00 to 8:30 or 9:00 pm. I may not get confirmation on this until tomorrow. I'll find out if they have a slide projector or if someone needs to bring one.

A slide projector with an empty tray would be awesome. I have just a few slides, but, its such a hassle to find a scanner on short notice and whilst on business...
Let me know. Maybe we could all pass them around and hold them up to the light...ha ha...

I'd say toss 'er in. Worst case, we'd end up in someone's hotel room showing slides later on...

Indeed!... after all, Theresa has a picture of you and her ice climbing in VT as part of the screensaver slideshow on my laptop. So we see your mug and think of you whenever the computer sits idle long enough!
We'll just be there for the afternoon at Stone House actually because it overlaps with the 40th anniversary of YMS, which Theresa is committed to as well. But we'll see you there.

OK Brutus of Wyde Memorializers:
We are on for showing videos at the Lone Pine Film Museum on Saturday night (8/29) 7:00-9:00 pm. They can show DVDs and VCRs, but they want us to bring the videos to the Film Museum early on either Friday or Saturday so that they can test them out and make sure they will run on their equipment.
The Film Museum DOES NOT have a slide projector, so Mike (or someone) please bring yours. They also requested that the slide projector be dropped off at the film museum by Saturday noon so that they can test out it's operation ahead of time.
The Film Museum will provide some tables so that we can serve pizzas or whatever for dinner there at the Museum on Saturday evening.
It'll be good to get together for Brutus...most of you I don't know, but I'm eager to meet up with friends of Bruce and Em.

Looks like Skip and I will be leaving Thursday night or Friday morning. Looking forward to seeing folks.
Thanks for the links - I guess reservations are out at this point (5-day advance required), but we're hoping there will be some sites available...

Em asked me to post this info about camping at Brutus' memorial this weekend:
Check in at Lone Pine Campground regarding camping space: that will be our base of operations. We have space reserved for 51 people (about half of these are walk-in tent sites) which I think should accommodate everyone who's RSVPd on Evite, with some spaces left. I'll make a list of our sites and post it on the Lone Pine campground bulletin board. (or on Supertopo if I get it together tonight, arg!)
For overflow, Tuttle Creek is all first-come first served and there are a couple of first-come sites at Lone Pine CG. We could send scouts to Tuttle Creek on Friday to see how crowded it is, and reserve a couple of sites if Lone Pine CG is full.
