Was about to blow this sucker up. Gives new meaning to the old saw "when something is leaking, it's better to figure out why than to ignore it".

Blessed are the peacemakers
For they are God's favorite handguns

WAITING PERIOD OVER
by MFM
The prolific gun threads
Spawn in their bloody redds
The very phrase is oxymoronic
The very phrase is wholly ironic
Prolific mean for life
While guns say no life
Tiny bullets in my spine
Tell me it’s not just the wine
Whining tiny balls of lead
Rushing quickly overhead
Tell me that it’s time to split
If I should stay I might get hit
But I feel like a lucky punk
I’ve got four shotguns in my trunk
There’s tear gas, Tazers, and some mace
I’ll use them now and save some face
Look out, suckahs, better run
I'm the man with the biggest gun

Actually the cause for posting all the Zepplin, is this song or the Sky Top route of the same name.
When it became clear to one Rich Ross, who's pictures once graced these threads,
Who I was - he buggerd off.
it bade a hearty hello to one who done done me wrong.
Her name for all intents and purposes was Selfish Brown ,no relation to z but for the blues
And love for surfer dudes, she kinda dug that about me when we first met although she did not know she hadn't met a real surfer dude - then or yet.
Wait this has gone off the rails . . .
So much water, notches under the bridge doin' it down by the river.
Rich Ross was on the 1st accent of a serious 5.8+ named Kashmir.
I remember someone telling me it was for the feeling of the last moves before good gear
a good twenty feet above a spear of rock that would ruin everyone's day if a climber came off there.
Only 5.8 ? You say well at Sky Top any rating with a R and + sign with such a serious set of moves above gear looking at certain ground fall and a maiming. Would be real 5.11 climbing all over the west .
Dead vertical to slightly over hanging out right of the best holds in a crack the jaunty moves
Resemble those of a stumbling dancer trying to stay up right in heels.
The climbing off the deck is a battle with gravity and suspiciously large holds.
A very proud lead and one that can't be cheated on.
I only led it twice.
For me and the climbs of my mother crag to have led a great 5.8 only twice,
when others were climbed repetitively, reducing the number of points of protection
until it was third classed - says volumes .
I really miss that place. Sky Top and Bonticoue. The shwan funks in a smaller scale than the Great Ditch and no where near as complex
it is a land as wonderful as any that I've been to.
To cow - tow to the no publication of the out-back ( unless your name is Dick Williams)
Means there are still great adventures of discovery to be had often met with the raw slap of finding a piece of fixed gear, not stuck just left above the crux de-noting previous passage.

Don't you cry for me,
You might wash away some gold!
Not that Colorado escaped a similar fate in places.
Riding the Eliza to Cali
I came from Salem city,
With my washbowl on my knee,
I’m going to California,
The gold dust for to see,
It rained all night the day I left,
The weather it was dry,
The sun so hot I froze to death,
O! brother, don’t you cry!
OMG! California,
That’s the land for me!
I’m going to Sacramento,
With my washbowl on my knee.
I jumped aboard the ‘Liza ship,
And traveled on the sea,
And every time I thought of home
I wished it wasn’t me!
The vessel reared like any horse
That had of oats a wealth;
I found it wouldn’t throw me, so
I thought I’d throw myself.
What say! California, etc.
I thought of all the pleasant times
We’ve had together here,
I thought I ought to cry a bit,
But couldn’t find a tear.
The pilot bread was in my mouth,
The gold dust in my eye,
And though I’m going far away,
Dear brothers, don’t you cry.
Hey, there, say! California, etc.
I soon shall be in San Francisco,
And then I’ll look around,
And when I see the gold lumps there,
I’ll pick them off the ground.
I’ll scrape the mountains clean, my boys,
I’ll drain the rivers dry,
A pocket full of rocks bring home,
So brothers, don’t you cry.
Say what? California, etc.
The only palpable good, besides the monitory wealth, of hydraulic mining, seems to be boulders like these.
Limestone bouldering near Columbia, CA., some of the outcrops made accessible by hydraulics applied by miners.
