The militia men are getting worked by the oldest trick in the book: agents provocateur. Half the people in that camp are probably FBI agents.

That's one possible explanation as to how "protesters" were (allegedly) pointing loaded guns at fed cops seemingly with no repercussions--could be they were cops themselves, just doing some acting. Fun job if you can get it I suppose; as a taxpayer, the entire affair is nauseating.

Please cite the California case or statute that allows resistance to an "unlawful" detention.

I did cite a classic case, Sagon Penn in San Deigo. It is a little over the top and was also a case of self defense.
Also see California Jury Instruction 2670
http://www.courts.ca.gov/partners/documents/calcrim_juryins.pdf
[A peace officer may legally detain someone if [the person consents to
the detention or if]:
1. Specific facts known or apparent to the officer lead him or her
to suspect that the person to be detained has been, is, or is about
to be involved in activity relating to crime;
AND
2. A reasonable officer who knew the same facts would have the
same suspicion.
Any other detention is unlawful.

For all practicalities, resisting arrest is a pretty stupid move given how officers generally respond to such antics. Cops deal with all kinds of belligerent peope day in, day out and it's probably not in your best interest to be perceived as one of them. Better to sort it out at the station if it's gotten that far out of hand. You can attempt to stand on principle, but at least here in PDX you aren't going to be standing very long.

I crossed the border with Mexico several times last year in my truck. No issues with border patrol. They have job to do thanks to GWB and Homeland Security.
Watch what you wish for.

I hope there are FBI agents keeping an eye on these "patriot" creeps. Can't think of a better use of taxpayer dollars.

Wow... sheep really are easy to divide and conquer...
You do realize this is the same playbook that's been used countless times in the past with collapsing regimes?

From yesterday's paper "It seems all these people do not recognize the logical extension of their actions: anarchy. The two definitions given for anarchy by the online Merriam-Webster Dictionary are 1. a state of society without government or law; and 2. political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control."

"Lately, Bundy’s leadership has taken on a religious tone. He claims that he has had a revelation from God that his supporters are to disarm the BLM and National Park Service, and to tear down the toll booth at Lake Mead."

I'm surprised only Locker and BobD were piqued by my Reagan medal. I expected a bit more razing. Let me say that it is one hundred percent real. Fortunately it was given by Reagan not to me but to my to my bat sh#t crazy rabid republican Grandmother for her efforts to dismantle America,
I am not sure why I ended up with it but it's a hoot to show it to people and watch their reactions. My Dad is also a diehard republican. He got George Bush to autograph a hundred dollar bill at a political rally. Talk about devaluing currency.
I trade them both for a cup of coffee and a scome.
