why is everyone here so ignorant?
we are all climbers and should respect all kinds of climbing. I personally like bouldering best, but whos to tell me im wrong? Sport climbing has its place, and i definately respect people who can climb hard sport. Same for trad, and even big walls. respect everything in its own right, and instead of being a "trad" climber, why not just be a "climber" and try everything. a rock is a rock, just climb it and have fun.

Now hold on there AngryT. I boulder, boulder a lot as a matter of fact! Eegaad, I even sport climb, though not that frequently anymore. I don't think it makes me any less of a climber. I've also done new routes in Alaska, climbed 5.12OW's in Vedauwoo, and more than a few desert towers. If I were forced to only climb in one mode for the rest of my days though, I'd probably take bouldering and can the rest. If for no other reason than because the cooler is always close by and nothin' beats sittin' on the pad, watching the sun go down over the rez, sippin' a Sheaf Stout with yer buds, and wonderin' what the po' folks are doin' this evening.
This is a curious thread, when you really think about it, all climbing is stupid.

The real donny didn't make fun of people for hanging on 5.9 sport, he made the legitimate statement that most of the tradsters on this forum can't climb 5.13, or even follow 5.13. That at least made the argument more interesting than your stupid 5.9 comments.

So hello dumbass let me make this clear for you to understand (or maybe no) 5.9 sport is alot harder then 5.9 trad. Donny, you're comparing 5.13 sport to 5.9 trad? Why don't you try a 5.13 trad, that'll give you a better idea of what's harder. Compare oranges to oranges not apples. Any 5.13 climb whether trad, sport, or ice beats any 5.9 climb. Compare routes with the same rank then make your judgement on which is harder. But to each their own, climb what you want. Just remember we're all climbing no need to get all jihad on each other.

Is there such a thing as 5.13 trad?
It's usually pre-practised (headpointed) anyway.....so essentially, even if it is sparesly protected, it is 5.13 sport, n'est pas?

Sport climbing is not really my cup of tea but who cares, I don't really give a sh#t what people want to do. I also managed to not read any of the above posts. The tittle of the thread did however remind me of something that happend last week. I went back to the gym (It's been 2 years) and a guy (gym rat/boulder bi*** type) came up and asked about my dreads, then said jason kell (?never herd of him)soloed a 5.14. My response " killer he should solo Astroman it's only 11c and it's way classic". He looked at me with a wacked out grin and walked away.
