Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, as well. I've been reading your posts and some of what you've been through. Sincerely, you're in my prayers.

GOclimb said "Did y'all know that all Shriners are Freemasons? The funny hats, the little cars,
and the childrens' hospitals. What's not to like!? And another interesting fact - did you know
that Shriners hospitals are free? There is never any charge
for treatment at a Shriners Hospital. No kidding! Free care for little kids with debilitating disease, nasty injuries, and serious burns.
Oh, yeah, sounds like the work of the devil to me!"
I've read most of this thread and wasn't planning to comment. I like the jokes and this comment, the rest - ugh. The Shriners have provided my eldest daughter free medical care all her life (she's 13 yo). This includes 23 major surgeries and equipment to deal with her brittle bone condition. No questions asked, no need to join anything. Just pure giving. They do this for thousands of kids everyday.
The little cars and funny hats are just cover for all the serious work they do.
We don't need god(s) or Jesus, we need more people like this.

bc without jesus, I wouldn't even be here. I would have died in my 20's. He's my best friend and just cause you can't see him doesn't mean he's not there. lynne
Edit: life has been a challenge lately. Don't think I could have done as well as I have without him. He's been there for me every day.....especially the hardest ones.

Lynne, I hear that kind of statement often. Jesus, God, angels or whatever shows when the trouble has already happened. You can almost always count on them showing up after the fact. Why are they never there to stop the car crash or evil deed before it happens? They are like the worst superheroes ever. How would it sound if Superman showed up at the train wreck to just, you know, lift the railcars to remove the bodies. Go Superman.
My wife and I still get this about our daughter. "God had great foresight placing her in such great care of you two wonderful parents and great doctors." BS. Where was he when her genes were going haywire. Late again. Off busy polishing the firmament I suppose. These people also fail to hear about all the kids like her that are basically abandoned by one or both parents. Many end up being adopted - or not.
I'm glad you believe that something was there for you when you needed the help. It seems to have worked for you.
Keep the faith.

Why the certainty that when He comes again we'll recognize Him?
Why the certainty He hasn't already come back? More than once maybe...
Do you expect the established religions to embrace Him?

JC had it down...
And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder: One of the four beasts saying: "Come and see." And I saw. And behold, a white horse.
There's a man goin' 'round takin' names. An' he decides who to free and who to blame. Everybody won't be treated all the same. There'll be a golden ladder reaching down. When the man comes around.
The hairs on your arm will stand up. At the terror in each sip and in each sup. For you partake of that last offered cup, Or disappear into the potter's ground. When the man comes around.
Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers. One hundred million angels singin'. Multitudes are marching to the big kettle drum. Voices callin', voices cryin'. Some are born an' some are dyin'. It's Alpha's and Omega's Kingdom come.
And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree. The virgins are all trimming their wicks. The whirlwind is in the thorn tree. It's hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Till Armageddon, no Shalam, no Shalom. Then the father hen will call his chickens home. The wise men will bow down before the throne. And at his feet they'll cast their golden crown. When the man comes around.
Whoever is unjust, let him be unjust still. Whoever is righteous, let him be righteous still. Whoever is filthy, let him be filthy still. Listen to the words long written down, When the man comes around.
Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers. One hundred million angels singin'. Multitudes are marchin' to the big kettle drum.
In measured hundredweight and penny pound. When the man comes around.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts, And I looked and behold: a pale horse. And his name, that sat on him, was Death. And Hell followed with him.
Coincidence he had the same initials as The Man?
I'm posting it on this page too just because it's so badass!!!
