I would estimate that we have 40 inches of super heavy wer snow. Trees are completely screwed, no power, no water, not plowed out. Time to go for a ski.

Almost four foot of fresh snow
in Lead South Dakota today and
even more in the higher hills.
Elk rifle season started on the 1st and I saw quite a few hunters up there in their little campers. It will be several days before any of the main roads will see plows and of course the forest service trails never get plowed.
Top this with 60+mph winds all day and all the dead beetle bark trees getting laid over as well as the aspens that still have their leaves busted up all over and it could be a good spell before some of these hunters get out.
Hope all them make it through OK.

Third dat with no power which means no water since we have a well. Can get out of our little street and into town today. Need to get the chainsaw fired up.

Opening day on Whistler today! I didn't go because i haven't got my pass together yet and it's pretty low snow still. I really can't afford to mess up my spine again, so i'm gonna wait for a bit more..

^^^^^^ Oh Oh I LOVE it. Reminds me of so many places back East where I grew up and learned to ski.
My contribution to "vintage"....my first year learning to ski when I was about 6, and wearing wool knickers and matching jacket (with some sort of fur collar) that my DAD wore when he learned to ski in the 30s! My brother is in the foreground.
I saw this sweater in my Title 9 catalog and really really want.
Susan
Edit: WOW WOW....I went back to the Vintage site...I had hardly scratched the surface. Thanks so much....what a collection! Thanks Jim Herrington. So much!
