I appreciate where you're coming from but your conclusions are way off the mark.
When fattrad was asked a perfectly normal question about a crime, he gave an honest answer including "highly unlikely". Which by the way, he was legally required to answer unless he thought it was self incriminating.
Now, to find CMac and RJ, the cops would have to know this is an internet forum. They've got better things to do than chase down this sort of "lead". If they did bother to call either of these guys and have a talk, they're certainly not going to waste their time and show up at the door.
If the cops DID call either of them, and that's why fattrad got booted, that's really wrong.
So until we hear from CMac, it's all conjecture.

To just bring someones name into the mix is to bring that person into the mix...

yeah.....just as my name and address go into the record when I call CHP to report a traffic accident.

In his communication with Locker, Fatty talks about getting a warrant for Chris Mac's arrest and also talks about "tooling" Chris Mac.

typical language, threatening while seemingly also humorous or innocent, but not really

always about the "power" that he supposedly once had, over 20 years ago, as an assistant deputy in the sheriff's office for one dollar a year.

Part of fattrad's persona is to make outrageous but opaque statements. What did he really mean to "tool" someone?
You can assume he's being sarcastic.......or not.
Are his "connections" real, inflated, or imagined? All of the above?
How much is self aggrandizing bluster, how much true nastiness or threat?
With fattrad, it's often very hard to tell.
If he truly threatened or used his "connections" to get the cops after anyone, that's a very serious charge.

Doesn't account for FM, skipt and weschrist unless they were all involved.
Now there's a tag team match I'd pay to see.

so slacklining and sketchy andy hit the big time, jillions of unfamiliar tv viewers start googling slacklining, climbing, sketchy andy.

cmac posts a thread to take advantage of the imminent gold rush, one of the rare occasions on which he actually uses the site for something other than selling gear.

and then the poor f*#kers who click thru to supertopo are then treated to the usual cluster.

i'm just surprised more folks didn't get the axe, but then i gave up on that thread almost as soon as it began, just like we all have to give up on most of them.

I look at this thread and it really does make me believe that history repeats itself. /enough said.

The bottom line is, if you are >90% noise, you should be gone. IMO the signal to noise ratio is CRITICAL to the success of a website. Dr. F., while very active in the Poli threads, is a REAL climber. Not only that, probably 85% of everyone reading this owns his SoCal Bouldering Guide and should clearly recognize the value of having him around. Jhedge? That dude has more climbing knowledge about Cali and areas beyond that most of you could wish you had.

LEB is 100% pure non-climbing noise. How does this help Supertopo? To me it isn't about whether or not someone has the same political perspective that I do, it is about whether or not they contribute to this website positively in the arena of climbing.

That to me should be the crux of whether you stay or whether you go...

HighTraverse - you make valid points. Personally, the (his) schtick got very very old. I started asking him why he was "being such a dick". enough is enough.

Jim - this is a commercial site. Rights of free speech do not apply. Take a read of the terms of use of this site. They are typical and standard - right to refuse service for any reason is managements right.

Of course then there is the "right of free speech" that this nutty little tribe seems to generally agree on and try to adhere to. Doesn't always work. Sometimes you get voted off the island and never LEaBe. I mean leave.
