Toker Villan with:
Friday the 13th AND a full moon, won't be another for more than 3 decades.

Maybe I'll open up something special.

and my pal Skully with:
You DO know the full moon was yesterday, right?

Full enough moon for me TokerVillan! I'll drink to that awesome concept!

Windy & cold in the northern Rockies today. Snow tonight above 7,000 Ft. in Idontno and gusts up to 50 MPH on the Utard, Idontno border. Maybe not a perfect night at City of Rocks.

It wasn't perfect there on the same date last year.

I'll drink to staying inside tonight!

I'm gently lubed with the Red Hook Audibles. I'm keeping my boy awake for his first real full moonrise tonight. Me, the kid and the dog had a sweet outing at Snowshed and the Emigrant Trail. He's been hosting all the neighborhood to some epic Ninja training.

forgive me for entangling tenses,
for i am predicting now, which in the near and eternal future,
will be the past.

but hell i had everything:
a beautiful and caring wife,
an established career,
a nosrk morgage, nearly extinguished.
a home in the foothills,
a cabin in the mountains.

a sturdy relationship
with my two beautiful daughters.

a great rack.
did i mention a great rack?

it all made perfect sense?
well, not really.
too much content.
an overload of well-being.
structure and routine
and a sedated soul.

i drank it all away.
incident upon incident
further upset the wife.

for good reason,
until one day,
i arrive at my door,
and there's no warm dinner;
no bickering children;
no wagging dog;
no warm fire to dry my sweaty socks;
no hug from my love.

no love.

it's all gone.

and she gave me the ultimatum,
yes she gave me too many chances,
she forgave my excessive trespasses.

and when she said,

"give up the drink, or lose me."

i considered it, heartily.
and i ultimately decided to break life's spine.
for i admire an earned limp.
and i drank.
oh was she disappointed.

but i harvest energy
from an extra-terrestrial son.

i am traveling thru this space
with an extra heart.

the normal limitations assigned to our breed,
i supersede.

diseases find me, but fail to sink their teeth.
even in me, entropy has found it's match.

all along, people, many of whom love me,
have told me that i shouldn't attempt life
as i understand it.

and every time, every gawdamn time,
i have proven them wrong.

it's all normal shite:
college degree, buying property, building a home,
conducting careers, raising children..
nothing extra-ordinary.

where i exceed ordinary is in my execution
of all life accomplishments.

i author each day based on the imaginative
helix comprised of my genetic code mixed with
my environmental exposures.

i'm a norwegian dirtbag.
and quite professional.

1. A glass of a central coast Syrah. It was pretty good!
2. Can't think of anything inflammatory right now but my shoulder is definitely inflamed.
3. Don't have to drive to the crags because I'm at the crags. Going home tomorrow after 3 days of climbing.

Ptpp is it howling wind up there? It's been pretty windy here in Mammoth the last few days. Going down almost yo freezing again tonite.

One beer.
A couple of glasses of white zinfandel.
A couple of glasses of red.

Aquavit tastes a bit like gasoline.

It would be fun to share a glass of aquavit with the Norwegian at the bridge someday1

Margaritas now and cold Dale's Pale Ale in the fridge for later.

Mart Lewis is a construction slacker who is using working on "The new Mammoth Guide" as an excuse. Pfffft!

Working on the Honey-do list in LA to get our house ready to rent, deserving of an early 'garita.

Dr. F.

Thanks for posting up Ilvaite on the drunk post thread. I just happened to check in with my people----------- and may I say: that is one fine Ilvaite.

Here's one I found in matrix a while back, at one of the classic Ilvaite locations. Laxey Mine, South Mountain Idaho.

Sluuurp. Fine red wine with the Doninis tonight after 4 nights at City of Rocks.

I'm glad to be in out of the rain and wind.

Woe is us. Nearly every climber in America is off to the crowded crags----or true adventure this weekend, and we are stuck at home giving twice a day antibiotics to Harley (the cat).

He got in a cat-fight earlier in the week, and I drove his sorry cat-ass to the vet yesterday, who diagnosed infection from cat scratches or bites.

Oh well! I can always drink wine inside, as well as outside.

Sluuuuuurp!

Have fun out there!

S'far; 2 glasses red red wine.

Hi Heidi & Harley! Hi Tami, you should come to COR next year. Just admiring Moosedrool's climbing prowess on the COR thread. Dude climbs way better than I.

This weekend I work all weekend to make up for a week spent having fun on the road. Coming soon: Montana, Tenaya Peak, and some 14ers. Oh, and climbing with Cosmic, maybe Phylp.
