Have you NOT read my posts about my Mother and Father in law at the rally in Colorado Springs?
Or are you ignoring this women ...
I never heard a peep out of you supporting the OWS protestors.
In fact I believe you made several efforts to slag on them.
Or are you suggesting that the OWS protesters should have shown up armed to the tits?
Do you think all protest and dissent in America should be done by armed protesters?
Your double standards are showing.

I love how, With nothing else left to them, the defenders of this mooching racist rancher are stating that Clivin is a producer of goods for America. He is putting red meat on the tables of America. And that makes him morally superior to all thise lazy moochers of the OWS movement.
Tell me exactly how many Americans could be fed and for how long off of Bundy's Beef?

In spite of my better judgement at even being near this chi** throwing contest.
Dear Ron exaggerated and obfuscated again
body checked a 59 yr old woman FROM BEHIND to the ground Yes, they knocked down a 59 yr old woman (I take exception to the insinuation that 59 years is an age of decrepitude and incapacity....as should Ron)
I believe it was Ron who posted the YouTube link to the "community" propaganda meeting held the next day. The Bundy boyz and the woman who had been knocked down spoke. By her own testimony in the video she said she had been pushing back against the front of one of the cattle trucks moving along the dirt road. And she looked pretty fit compared to most of her accomplices. Given the melee I'd have pushed her out of the way too if it was the only way to get her out of the path of likely doom. Or did she WANT to be flattened like a cow pie? Perhaps she did. Then I agree, she should not have been pushed out of the way. It's not as if the rebels were standing peacefully in a line locked arm and arm singing Kumbya.
As for the tasering? It was one of the Bundy boyz. The video is pretty scrambled. The Feds claim that the tasered guy was confronting and not backing away from a police dog. Looks like that in the video too. Ergo, disobeying a lawful order. Tough **it laddie. You confront the cops yer gonna get roughed up. As if you weren't asking for it.
Victims? my arse. Armed provacateurs.

It's all an outrage of Gubmint overreach when it happens to armed cow pokers wearing Water the Tree of Liberty tshirts but let it happen to peaceful protesters wearing a Greenpeace or OWS tshirt and they shulda obeyed da law.
Just a reminder to those blinded by anti-patriotic zeal.
This is what a real patriot looks like.
This is what a real hero looks like.
This is what a real man looks like.
Your Nancyboi cowering behind concrete...not so much.

Over and over agin, you see people that walk away thinking they got away with something. But there's tons of video for gummint to pour over at their leisure.
I think I wouldn't want to be these guys. They felt powerful all together, but the gummint, will probably hunt them down one by one.
Not sure where this will land them. Certain violations, bear a disproportionate penalty. Gun charges, menacing, etc. Probably some of them, will never be able to go to Canada. Or even fly.

ahhh yes
the infamous and secretive No Fly List
Now there's government excess. You can't even find out if you're on it until you're stopped at the checkpoint. If you're on it, there's no means of appeal. Some aspects of it have to change.
The appalling way some law abiding American citizens and their families (including children) have been detained and interrogated returning from Canada and Mexico (oddly enough usually people with dark complexions and carrying Korans) is finally being unearthed.
Certainly the Feds will keep track of these Whackos who have so conveniently come out of the woods to be photographed in full regalia. Good luck on them getting to travel to any civilized country, including Canada (as if they would want to).
Should provide plenty of opportunities for lawyers in the future.

Since its still on the front page, I'll wade into the sh#t show again.
El Cap.. thanks for straightening me out the other day. I lost my mind. You were right. I'm not the supertopo hall monitor. If people enjoy the sh#t show, then so be it. I'm not into blowing guys, or carrying a handbag, but if you still want that blow job, I will spot you 50 bucks towards one of those 7/11 hookers Locker is always talking about.
Philo. sorry.. I got carried away. I still don't like the negativity, but its not my place to ride you.
As for Bundy.. good grief.
I did watch that video Ron posted a few pages back, the one with the judge being all snide. And I think I finally figured some of this out. I can't prove it, but it makes sense to me.
The way I see it…
Bundy is a lying sack of sh#t. His family was NOT on that property in the 1870s, but lets ignore that for now.
1. The Bundys moved on the property in the 1940s.. His family grazed cattle on leased federal land. He paid his fees.
2. In the early1990s, the desert tortoise was declared endangered. This forced a situation where the BLM had to find a way to protect them. One way they protect endangered species is that they create preserves. The condor preserve near Fillmore Ca is one good example. I use to live near that. I believe Ron was for that one. So in 1993 they created a desert tortoise preserve. I believe that this was well before large solar was possible.
3. The preserve was BLM land that the Bundy's grazed 600 head of cattle on. There were something like 49 other cattle grazers on that land. The Bundy's lease was reduced from 600 to 120 head of cattle. For a small operation like him, this was likely doom. But it was well within the BLM's rights. The grazers lease the land, they don't own it.
4. In 1993 Bundy stopped paying his grazing fees. This led to a number of court battles which he lost.
This next part is the part that I can't find any info on.
At some point, the BLM created a method where land that had desert tortoises on could be developed. What the developer had to do was move the tortoises to land set aside for a preserve. ta dah.. enter the desert tortoise preserve.
5. Solar was becoming big and Reid was pushing for it. At some point the Moap indian tribe decided to build a solar installation on their reservation. This would be good for them as they could earn money, and it would be good for whomever bought the energy. ( the evil LAWP contracted for it, my god, free enterprise, Los Angeles is stealing Nevada's power ) This is the picture that the Chief kept posting.
6. This Moap solar project had tortoises on it which by federal law had to be moved before construction could begin. Enter Reid, Bundy, and the tortoise preserve. Bundy's cattle were destroying the preserve and had to be moved before the tortoises could be safely moved.
And now you have this sh#t show.
Ried's son was involved with a Chinese company that wanted to build some solar installations. He was not as far as I can tell involved with the Moap indians, but he likely would have had tortoises that needed to be moved. So that could be a problem. It would be lovely if there were still investigative reporters, rather then what we have now that calls itself news. The problem for the Bundyites is that his projects fell through more then a year ago. As far as I can tell, he has no projects running now. But that won't stop the conspiracy theorist.
Add in..
When Reid took office his net worth was reported at 1.5 million. 20 some odd years later he is worth 10 million and to the patriots, that looks like he is taking money for those solar installations that he is pushing. Is he? I don't know.
The patriots are protesting this, yet they failed to say word one when Cheney's net worth went from 5 million to 25 million during his 8 years as vice president. Most of his net worth was in Haliburton stock. He was CEO of Haliburton during the years before he became vice president. Haliburton if you remember was a company that received no bid contracts in Irag. Something Cheney was responsible for. Not surprising to me that his stock value when up so much in 8 years. This was not protested by the Patriots.
Moral of the story….. make your money off of getting no bid contracts from the government, but not from the state that you live in. Or the Patriots will be pissed.
Did I miss something?

you missed a lot of the hysteria from the Whackos
as for facts?
From a right wing website
The stand-off began earlier this month, when the Bureau of Land Management attempted to enforce a court order and seize nearly 1,000 head of cattle raised by Bundy.
When the BLM showed up with hundreds of armed federal agents and began rounding up the cattle, almost 1,000 people came to Bundy’s aide – armed militia from multiple states and others who believed the government was overstepping its bounds. That's a significant contraction of events.
The BLM originally showed up with a small number of "armed officers" (all BLM, NPS, USFS "rangers" are now officer LEO's) and a few paid cowboys, set up some temporary corrals in the wash under I-15 (nice shade) and collected a number of cattle. The plan was to move all the cattle to existing private auction yards in central Utah and auction them. Cowboys get paid, auction yards get their fees, cattle gone, after expenses a very small portion of Bundy's debt to the government gets paid. The BLM had every incentive to safely collect as many cattle as possible.
The Governor of Utah screamed "not in MY back yard" and BLM suddenly had to make plans to hold the cattle longer at Bundyville. In his defense, the Utah gov was concerned about just what happened in Nevada and didn't want any part of it.
THEN the "militias" started showing up in small numbers and the pushing match mentioned earlier happened. At that point there were only a dozen or so BLM "rangers" (for lack of a better word). I believe there was only one LV TV crew and possibly a print reporter from St George (40 miles up the road)
So then the Whackos started arriving in droves. How many? 1000? Does that include women and children? Only The Shadow knows. (and the FBI)
The Clark County Sheriff brokered a peace agreement. The BLM says 350 cattle were released. BLM says 2 died, 4 were euthanized.
The BLM went home. Many of the "militias" stayed.
I believe the BLM had figured on capturing 900 cattle, Bundy said he only owned 500.(wildly varying estimates in the press)
If you want TMI just Google Bundy Cattle or go to the LV Review Journal and search for Bundy

you missed a lot of the hysteria from the Whackos
yep.. I was just trying to get down to the basis. I thought it was just about tortoises. Jan said earlier she thought more was going on, which is what motivated me to look deeper
. I believe now that it started as tortoises 20 years ago and added solar installations recently when it was necessary to move tortoises from the solar construction sites, which would explain Reid's current interest. It doesn't explain why this guy thinks he can get away without paying grazing fees just because he was pissed he lost some of his grazing rights. I understand that his current argument is that he doesn't recognize the feds as having rights. he lost that argument in court.
the hysteria and hyperbole around this is pretty astounding. the number and type of theories out there is hard to digest and wade through. LIke if we shotgun enough theories out there, something will stick.

I hope you are right, any civilian with a pistol in their hand, or rifle to their shoulder in that stand-off should be prosecuted. What armchair lawyer here can possibly claim that it's legal or acceptable to point a loaded gun at cops implementing a court order? If they are true patriots they can fight the prosecution of their "civil disobedience" all the way to the Supreme Court.
